There is a lot of speculation about Ryan Odom to UVA. It would be a good fit. I would prefer him to be there than VCU.

He will remain a coach through the tournaments. Depending on what happens, VDU is probably a lock for the dance. If VCU loses today, Odom is gone by the end of the weekend. Can't waste time nowadays.
Yea theyll recover likely. Meanwhile their new coach will likely eat our lunch.Yep w been discussing this under coaching carousel thread for a few days.
Would be nice for a Bonnies win and a nervous VCU crowd. But they will just get another good one
Honestly, have gotten to a point of begrudging respect for VCU. They run a fantastic program built upon the singular premise of winning basketball games. If they lose Odom, they will hire another top notch coach to replace him, who will beat Mooney 75% of the time like all of their coaches do.Yea theyll recover likely. Meanwhile their new coach will likely eat our lunch.
Even them losing today, missing the tournament and Odom presser at UVA while fantastic, doesn't move the needle like it used to because of our underperformance.
Agree completely, our sucking and moon draining the life out of the program puts a damper on any hatred for VCU, and March madness in general. Will say I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Creighton Depaul game, and there were a bunch more. Just resigned to the fact that if we stay this course it will be every blue moon (pun intended) that we have some excitement. I am targetting March 2028 hopefully.Yea theyll recover likely. Meanwhile their new coach will likely eat our lunch.

They play defense and are relentless on the boards. Not playing well but the above facts have them up by ten. I hate them but respect the way they play. We're not anywhere close to their level.VDU is up 36-26 at the half. Go Bonnies. The Bonnies have shut out Shulga, but not the rest of the team.
Quick, someone yell "You are a Russian" at VCU.
They play how you want your team to play. 100% percent effort all of the time, both ends of the floor, go hard after every ball. We do that only when we are down double digits with less than 2 minutes to play. They play defense and are relentless on the boards. Not playing well but the above facts have them up by ten. Not sure it’s excuses. Maybe it’s more acceptance of and admitting who we are and only rising above periodically enough to perpetuate.Similar thoughts 97. I used to hate VCU, now have to give them respect. All we have are excuses year after year after year.

Meanwhile, we are stuck with in neutral as always.
All the more reason for us to put the money and time into evaluation and be more selective.Like it or not, they got it going in Basketball at VCU. Hate to beat the dead horse but our pool of recruits and transfers are very small compared to What VCU can pull from.
The pool is exactly the same size for us as anyone else. We just happen to be afraid to swim the entire length. That’s on us.Like it or not, they got it going in Basketball at VCU. Hate to beat the dead horse but our pool of recruits and transfers are very small compared to What VCU can pull from.
Unless he means who will accept us instead of who we will accept…The pool is exactly the same size for us as anyone else. We just happen to be afraid to swim the entire length. That’s on us.

Sanchez was not going to the be the answer at UVA, but to be talking with a coach before the season with another head coach. And yeah, if you are VCU, your head coach already had a job lined up to leave before the season started. Ugh, unseemly at the least. Probably wouldn't be mentioning that in my opening presser.Listened to Odom's opening press conference .. clearly this was Odom's dream all along and basically he made it sound like after pre-season VCU/UVA scrimmage, he met with Pres Ryan and their AD, the direction was almost decided prior to the real season starting. Not sure how that is going to go over with our Ram nation friends.
Yep a lot of speculation that he shut his son down for season after talking with Indiana. Wild stuff.DeVries at his IU press conference basically admitted they were talking during the season too
College sports and everything associated with them has turned into a free for all. The love of money. Pro sports leagues are tame compared to the NCAA.DeVries at his IU press conference basically admitted they were talking during the season too
College football and basketball equals the Wild Wild West. An agent’s paradise for stream of money.College sports and everything associated with them has turned into a free for all. The love of money. Pro sports leagues are tame compared to the NCAA.
