Sorsdale at W&M 1st team. Coulda/shoulda been a Spider. We missed that one. no longer bitter...ok but only slightly.
Congratulations to Ryan Coll. He had a great year and brings that physical play every week. Glad to see he is getting the recognition he deserves. One of my favorite Spiders!

UR linebacker Tristan Wheeler (Bethlehem, Pa.) and offensive lineman Ryan Coll (Gainesville, Va.) have been named Fourth Team FCS All-Americans by Phil Steele's Football.

Really pleased to see these guys getting the recognition. Both have been great players and both have a great work ethic. Can remember when Mr Coll signed here - nice family.
And then there's Wheeler's bio that lists him as going from true frosh in 2019 straight to redshirt sophomore in 2020–21 to redshirt junior in 2021 to redshirt senior last year.
Standout Players at the FCS level get recognized if the team which they play on does well in order for their recognition at an All Conference and even All American spot .If the team does mediocre or poorly it will affect a player’s visibility.That’s an added challenge for Ryan and Tristan this season.

Coaches can’t block, tackle, throw, run , catch. Our players need to shoulder most of our letdown last Saturday. We will see how this team and coaches respond
