Robin's Center experience

played the VCU hey song when a lot of our fans had left so let them have their own chant in our building.

This was simply awful. I was sitting close enough to what remained of the student section and they did their best to stave off the "V C U" chants but it was still overpowering. I imagine the folks sitting on the other side of the arena just felt like they were in Siegel 😒

Yeah the music issue during the player intros was embarrassing. And once again, a "red out" where t-shirts aren't given out. There was a good stretch of years where season ticket holders were given a tee each year (not even tied to a particular game) but those days are long gone.

Have we done a pregame or halftime ceremony to celebrate Mooney’s 20 year milestone? Honestly I figured that was a lock. Think of Hardt handing Mooney a platinum ball.

Product is the biggest issue, but the home VCU game is our Super Bowl of home games. Everything should be geared towards that game. Games before should be testing new ideas or concepts for the home VCU game - so when it comes to this game - its the Super Bowl.

Agreed. And all we did was role out the same exact atmosphere we did for all of the other games. Nothing unique or special.

It wasn’t the exact same atmosphere. There weren’t any youth basketball scrimmages at half. /s UR had to set a collegiate record for those this season.
Why not have fraternities or sorioties field teams and they either play in a small tourney, and then the final two teams get to play in short halftime game? I don't mind the youth basketball teams from time to time - but your spot on - we did that almost every game this year. Plus - if you get the fraternities or sororities involved - could result in more students showing up, even if they are just there to see the halftime game.

U of R dislikes Greek life. I doubt that has really changed.

Well that would take outreach and effort, probably why it didn't happen.
