Replacement Game

Right, But never mind, that St. Joes and St. Louis both came off of Covid layoffs against us and kicked our a**es. The excuse-o-meter is gonna be in full swing.
Technically, the situation is totally different since UR is not on pause at all and instead is just unable to play due to its opponents being on pause. Thus, the team should be dedicated to the normal practice schedule and be able to work on all known deficiencies. It should be a focus on improved defense and of course free throw shooting. Maybe CM should talk to Travis Ford. SLU is shooting FTs tons better this year and that is probably the one reason that they beat Iona. I think they missed 1 out of 26.

Of course, this reality will never factor into the equation if there is an undesirable outcome.

I still want a broadcasted game between the seniors and the underclassmen. Lets see what we've got and who should be starting.

So we should talk to Travis Ford about how to graduate Hasahn French (career .343%) and Jordan Goodwin (.580) to improve our FT shooting? I don't think it's evidence of Ford doing anything at all.

That said, I did have a long internal soliloquy while walking the dog last night that the full 10 day layoff should be dedicated to installing a second defense, and to returning Cayo to his FT shooting form from the last two years.

On the first, I think the best coaches are able to employ multiple defenses through a season and within a game. On the second, I think it's an abject failure of responsibility by the entire staff to allow Cayo to have reverted to this shooting form. If you see something being done wrong or poorly, try and fix it. There's no possible excuse that could assuage me from this view.
