Ha, yes. Media shitstorm of their own creation. They are in full damage control mode today.
Right and that is my issue with Bob. So, here he gets to be media and have critical takes on other CBB programs. But he gets not to be media when it comes to UR.
And no despite this seeming double standard in how Bob covers UR and other sports programs, I still would not expect him to blister his employer. All I'm asking is to just ask some probing questions from time to time, to say out loud that hey we aren't where we hoped we would be at this point in the season in his endless commentary about UR men's hoops. If he was just our PBP guy, fine be a cheerleader, but he has his other job which is decidedly covering the ins and outs of the Richmond sports scene and to only present the happy shiny side of one of the big sports programs in town is inconsistent with his second job. Meanwhile, he is clear to lob haymakers at VCU.
There is a reason he has the nickname "Baghdad Bob".

Have to give vcu fans credit, they are excoriating Clownshow Ed. They must hate him more than we despise Hardt. Not sure what earlier issues they had with him, though it seems to be related to him trying to monetize everything. Hard to imagine he survives this. Oops.

Btw Philly Bob must not have ever spent time up at the old Veterans Stadium doing media. If he did he wouldn't be complaining or maybe get hit with a ladder.
Philly Bob is great PBP guy, professional & well respected. I don't know much about his radio. back in the 90s or early 2000s b4 he was employed full time with U of R he had a bigger radio show on 910. He was fired, why idk but I know there was some bitterness there. U of R then brought him on to athletic dept. So he probably feels indebted for that alone.
On 1 hand we should be happy about the show because it gets more air time for Spiders that we wouldn't get as often without it. That said when is last time Big Hat No Cattle Hardt even went on the radio? I'm not local but if I knew Spiders guest on I'd try to listen remotely.
I don't expect much critical thinking from Philly Bob towards U of R but given he does also have a sports talk show it's not unreasonable to have just a tinsy tiny little.
The last time was probably the time he said every mens basketball player that matriculates and stays 4 years at Richmond should go to the NCAAs. So once every 4 years. Remember that? No wonder we haven't heard that again.
Nope not true. he just did radio for us since then. He worked for 910 AM for a number of years. I'm going to have to ask SFSpidur validate this one and will gladly cop to being wrong (but I'm not).
