it's never been an issue of effort with this team. they have penty of heart. just not quite good enough to win games.
I am always proud of our spiders no matter what. Like Sman said, they played their hearts out and I commend them for that. We simply aren’t as talented as the other teams and just don’t have an A10 level roster playing in the A10 conference. Can’t fault the players for that.
Giving effort every game is very literally the least scholarship athletes can do. Kinda like someone praising me for not robbing any banks this year.

i have to give the players credit, with our record, especially since so many are transfers, it would be easy to quit. But I have not seen them quit, they continue to play hard.

Since these guys are all getting paid, I will be saving my accolades for hard work and effort for youth and high school sports. Paid players are paid to win ball games, they collectively did a really terrible job at this year.

I'm sure if someone calls Hardt up and says "extension" he will just sign on the dotted line. It is what he does.
At the end of the day, this guys are just 18-22 year olds. They are not professionals and they do not make generational wealth. They have not given up and they haven't quit. I will always give our student athletes the benefit of the doubt and praise their effort.

Effort is very overrated. Anyone playing D1 sports with pride in themselves is going to give great effort. To be there is an achievement of their lifetimes to this point. Of course they are going to give great effort.
So I dont agree that the richmond basketball supporters shield be “proud” of the team this year because they gave great effort.
CM sucks, we all know that and I feel sorry for the players to have to play for him if they want to win, but I doubt CM would be honest if he said he was “proud” of this team.

There is also effort of the kind where you yell and raise your arms and flop and it looks like effort, but the guy who is quietly efficient is putting in just as much effort, and not wasting supposed effort.
I am proud of this message board effort. We could have folded ship after the first few weeks and tucked tail and dropped our keyboards in the trash. But no, you don't see sman turning off his computer. EL keeps coming EVERY SINGLE DAY. GK, 97, SF, 8Legs1Dream, and 4evver. We have a strong board for sure.
Now not going to speak of 80's (quitters never win, winners never quit) or 4700, or even Brooklyn or SpiderK. Hopefully life is not keeping those guys down. If everything is OK in then suck it up and get back on here.
And yes, I am still proud Moon has not committed any felonies today, or that EL has robbed any banks. But if he does rob a bank, I hope he venmos my burner account A LOT of Money.

I thought SF was just posting a little fable for us, no? Like I could have said, I woud have watched our game, but I was busy walking across hot coals in bare feet with a nest of hornets in my mouth.
I'm actually going to try to step away for a while after our final loss this season. can't spend the next 7 months trying to find the positives.
