He’s been there four years, but apparently only used 2 of eligibility. Redshirted as a frosh and only played in two games this past season, so I guess it was a medical redshirt.

That explains it, thanks. I actually went to their roster page and missed the two games this past season.

Still happy for the young man he got a W&M degree before he moved on.

Random question... Is that his Mom or an Hawaii cheerleader?

Did well by us. Once a Spider, always a Spider. Go git em Stock!
I’ll never understand this . Why some of you want to show loyalty to someone
that obviously didn’t care about your support. I say b.s. I hope they fail miserably
after leaving us. F—-ing turn coat.

One could agree with both of these sentiments.

On one hand, this is the new normal. It's the new wild west. With the transfer portal and direct payments to players, coaches and fans tend to be more understanding and thankful for the time the players have given the school.

On the other hand, the school and the coaches have invested a lot of time, energy and money in developing these players. Then a player turns his back on that and walks away. This leaves the school left with nothing for its investment. It is harder to sustain success at a smaller school.

College degrees are not given, they are earned. Most of our players who transfer will be riding the pine. It makes no sense to transfer up, if someone has a position in front of you. Moving up does not always guarantee you success, even if you get a large pile of cash. (Tyler Burton)

Changing a degree from UR for a degree from JMU makes no sense, if you are only a backup. (Cam Coleman).

Spiders just made a couple of transfer offers:

Evan Spivey: DB out of JMU, 3 years of eligibility. Redshirted in 2023 and only appeared in 1 game this past season. Other offers from Ohio, App State, Maine, Campbell, FAMU, and Delaware State.

Caleb Chamberlin: Safety out of Air Force, 4 years of eligibility. Other offers from Maine, Campbell, and ETSU.

We offered him a couple of years back in high school. Initially committed to Air Force but backed out in favor of a PWO offer to UNC. Looks he's also been offered by NC State since entering the portal.

Brayden Ramey, OL out of FAU with 3 years left. Looks like he redshirted his first year and then only made one appearance this past season in their season finale. Also offered by North Alabama so far.
