Official Rose Colored Glasses Thread

Yeah, we need to 86 that video, it's way too long in addition to the noted problem you suggest.

Stork, hope you're okay buddy!

Deion Taylor, 2 rebounds, 1 steal. Aldridge and others ate up this "defensive specialist". Didn't score even though he was left unguarded all night.
Marshall Wood, 6 rebounds, 2 steals. Didn't score because he was closely guarded all night.

Who's the greater liability?
Dt is the laziest defender on the team.

Sherod had 15 REBOUNDS tonight to go along with his 30 points. Only 8 less rebounds than the entire UR team tonight!!!

I have said that for 4 years. Adoda was #1, he turned in his wings making DT the laziest on the team.
Watching DT have his hands down and casually stepping into the o player as if he is Michael J is histerical to watch. Then they blow by him. Laziest defender on the court. Thinks he is gonna block ever shot so he doesnt have to defend up front.

Exactly. He always takes that feeble swat from 5 feet behind the player that just blew by him.

Monte went for 29 and 14 tonight, including 8 offensive boards and 11-for-11 from the line. (Did go 0-for-5 from three though.)

That's ok, we have 3 point shooters out the A$$. We need the 29 rebounds our 2 recruits got tonight.

But when he gets here he will b coached that rebounding is not important. And no way should theyvattack the offensive board.

Bet G Burton stained his pants last night, even though he went to 7-20 Delaware.

Rose colored glasses, here. Not just because we won tonight.. but in wishing you guys well and wanting to send out, that you and your team have always worried me when having to face you, more than most other teams we have to face. I am VERY glad there were no injuries as well, the past 2 years have left me pretty depressed with what happened to both Cedric and Briante, 2 years in a row, and I know I am not the only one who has thought about this. I didn;t even want to talk about it.
You shoot very well, have some incredible ball movement, great young men out there playing, most of the right things are in place. You have 2 incredible recruits I know of (have seen both play in person a few times too) ... you have a ton to look forward to.
I always feel the rivalry between our 2 programs is healthy and am not amused by nor do I engage in cheap stabs... I am one that knows damned well this is a great town for basketball and it's in all our best interests, deep down, to want this town to have 2 great programs, competing against each other should be like it was tonight and I'd be saying this no matter who won tonight. We should be each others biggest challenge and I look forward to what the years ahead bring.
Keep working, keep believing in your team and your guys, hail them up for the warriors they are, treat them with the utmost respect... show up for every game you can, respect that your tickets are there to buy, and buy them.. enjoy the camaraderie your games bring for your fans, it's the best time to meet up, and keep up with each other. Respect your coaches and staff, they are working hard to bring you quality entertainment and a complete experience, be proud of your venue, it's downright incredible. Hail up your band and donate to make it larger and more powerful: it's a major key in a program rising and marks the difference between pro and college ball. Keep supporting your program and watch it rise, as it will.
Great play tonight. Those who were there felt what ram fans did.. an incredible game experience, regardless of who "won or lost", the thing is these players , all of them played incredibly.
I appreciate your sentiments which sound very pastoral, but it is most difficult to have passion for a team
and be excited to accept mediocre play. Without some form of constant striving for excellence, a true fan has extreme difficulty maintaining a high level of passion, if disappointment is a constant companion. College basketball is a business and winning equates to higher profits and greater returns. Last years NIT run was a projection for most of what was to come, building high expectations among the fan base. But instead major disappointment was the reward. So tell me, how do you regain "passion" as a fan when there is no emotional high to feed off. Big wins will help bring passion back, but changes need to take place with the program I am afraid.

Sorry if this has been discussed (haven't read thru all the threads), does anyone have any idea how the watch party went at the RC Friday night? Lot of people showed up? Ghost town?

Thought the chances of this having success was limited since game was 1) local and some would attend live at Costco Ctr., and 2) game was on espn2.

Basically ghost town. Some security, 8 cheerleaders, couple concession stands open. Maybe 100 total in the building. Not much to cheer for, we left with about 5 min to go.

That is a shame. I think it was a good idea but I think most fans saw the writing on the wall and decided to spend the evening drinking alone.

Good things to talk about regarding the athletic program:

Swim and Dive Team won their 6th straight A-10 championship. Not bad for a team that has a non-regulation size pool and can't host a lot of events.

Women's hoops team has won 3 in a row! Finally turning it around after having a dreadful time of it in December and January.

Men's Lacrosse beat UMBC yesterday up in Baltimore. They're 2-0!

See? Not all is doom and gloom.

Drinking is never a bad idea. Back in the day we would say, "Win, lose or draw, we'll drink to it." OSC

Yes I agree, glad they did it and would have been more fun with more participation. Many things working against the idea. Poor team, 98% chance of losing, on TV ESPN2, no beer.
The only thing I would have changed is I would have had the live feed of Bob Black and Greg, rather than the idiots on ESPN2 who don't know our team.

Ramt.... send that center our way asap! Thanks for the positive thoughts.............. You would be great at giving a pep talk........................

Yeah, the next solid two-way center Mooney recruits will be his first. I'm not holding my breath. There's no place for that kind of player in his system anyway. He doesn't value rebounding, and he values three-point shooting.

Yep...in the system there are subtle differences in a 5 & a 1. That's by design. It certainly appears finesse & shooting are valued more than defense & controlling the boards.

Some will say that's how we recruit. Others will say we can't get a big aggressive banger. I just wonder if there's a real priority / effort to get this type of big man. It reminds me of the adage - "Try it, you'll like it."

Ramballs. You told me in your second sentence that you are a bandwagon fan. Plus it's always easy to be so very kind when you win. I may be alone here but nothing pisses me off more than someone or someone's team coming to my place/message board and rubbing my face in how generous they can be in victory while explaining to me what my team and fans should do to improve.
Yep....I'm still mad. Gonna take me awhile but I'll be in my seat Wednesday cheering for my Spiders.

RamNads is just another dirtbag troll trying to get his rocks off by antagonizing UR fans on their own board.
