Of course. Statement?
But when you say "football" isnt that more of a pro-football thing? As opposed to an anti-basketball thing?

I'm hoping Gill demands change plus I'm going to start playing the lottery. The key question is the same every year: Are the players good enough to make the NCAA tournament in spite of the poor coaching? It has only happened with one group in the Mooney era.
Being eternally optimistic we have once again pinned our hopes on next year's incoming freshman. Reality, and probability are likely to leave us frustrated once again. My hope is that these freshman are exceptional enough to overcome the obstacle(s) and rise above the mediocrity. It is a lot to ask.
It is irrational and unfair to expect freshmen to make us top quartile team in the A10. Given a couple of years, and consistent good recruiting over those two years and yes we should be expected to be there, but I have no faith Mooney can coach a team, or the players, to be better than what they bring in when they come. The key question is the same every year: Are the players good enough to make the NCAA tournament in spite of the poor coaching? Check Gibbs' stats last two games vs Richmond......NOT A FACTOR. Defense struggles and missed foul shots. Crappy gym and huge unfair home court advantage..they are 12 and 1 at home.....???..
You are right when it comes to freshman, but if we have the same record with the team next year than I think its more of a successful season than a disappointing one such as this year. It's all relative. If we're 6-7 in conference with the young guys playing a lot next year then I think its a success to date.It is irrational and unfair to expect freshmen to make us top quartile team in the A10. I hope this is a joke. They were playing w out the leagues highest scorer and 40% of their offense. Flip roles and cm loses by 25.It was a pretty close contest tonight.

I agree but then we lose MW and TJC (not to mention SJ, who we seem to have replacements for) and don't have any experienced size in the pipeline, so yea 6-7 with next years team would be ok but the next couple of years don't look great. I'm just hoping beyond hope that something will be done about the situation. You are right when it comes to freshman, but if we have the same record with the team next year than I think its more of a successful season than a disappointing one such as this year. I assume your being sarcastic because To defend inside and stop offensive rebound you must have size."and don't have any experienced size in the pipeline"
The "system" doesn't require size. Big guys are meant to shoot 3's; rebounding is an afterthought.
Absolutely. We are in agreement.I assume your being sarcastic because To defend inside and stop offensive rebound you must have size.
Rebounding is not a thought at all."and don't have any experienced size in the pipeline"
