Now that the basketball Season Is Over

I'll go one further, when did they announce the NCAA field?

For KOs sake we better be in NIT as he is so deserving and as well as the team is playing well.

Carolina, you are right, KO deserves a few more games in the NIT. He is the kind of young man and player the TV people should love to have on.

NIT brackets will be announced at 8:30 PM Sunday. Expect to see a home game on Tuesday or Wednesday. Grab many friends and support the Spiders with your presence.

I'm just curious do you guys think that the nit (success) will help the team in some way (recruits, confidence, experience)? Or is there no real benefit?

It's what you make of it. Still a chance to win a championship of some type, which is worth playing for. It can be good experience against big-name teams we wouldn't otherwise play, possibly even at home, and the chance to get some primetime ESPN exposure a few more times this year. There's plenty of value in all that.

Teams hang NIT champion banners, not CBI or CIT banners. It's a trophy worth winning.

Hope we get to play some power conf teams who aren't willing to schedule us. Just come out with the mindset to win it. This team needs to feel the post season, even though it's not the one they wanted. And getting a game or two at home is just icing on the cake.

Absolutely. Would love to see a game vs. SEC team or Big 10.

FRS, unfortunately a lot of your posts are insignificant and irrelevant. Many of the teams in NIT every year are 100% better and way more talented than the 13-16 seeds in NCAA. But all the small and mid major conf AQs did what they needed to do to get in NCAA. We didn't. It's up to our guys to play the game before them and leave everything out on that court. Believe if they do that, we'll get a W.

Just curious FRS, were you saying that back in 1982? I still remember the 1989 game against Temple...
A visit from Syracuse and the West Virginia game that cost us our coach.
