No Longer On The Bubble

individual nights is a bit much, but why not? we're not honoring teams they've been on. our teams haven't won enough to be honored. our teams haven't achieved greatness. and of course that's the goal. but individually they've done some amazing things. you can be individually great but still not win championships in a team game.
I have a feeling they’re going to be honoring the 2019-20 team down the road if status quo around here remains. They’ll say we would have made a deep run in the tournament if it were allowed to happen, and no one close to Mooney/Queally will argue with it.

I really only follow the spiders so I’m hoping people on here can answer this question for me.
If Richmond runs the table and then loses in the quarterfinals of the A10, do they have a chance at an at large bid? Does this change if they lose in the A10 finals?
And this really isnt meant to debate if we have any chance at winning the remaining games… purely a hypothetical question which I believe this is the perfect forum for.

I think our only change at an at large is not losing until a theoretical A10 final against Davidson who we would like to win out as well. And even then it's a long shot.

We were in that game minus the last second shot!! We got one coming to them and that team on Franklin Street (Broad)!!

Yeah - I really wish we had an away at Davidson - I went to the game there in ‘20 - foot atmosphere and would have been nice q1 opportunity.

He’s not even that good days b4 selection Sunday let alone before season. Tho he does seem to get at least 1 last second change after some inside scoop each year.
He reaps the benefits of being one of the first prominent people in on the "Bracketology" game. Now there are hundreds of people better at it but because it was his thing for so long he just coasts along cashing checks.

Pleeze. Look at the total package there. Neutral at best. Arguably net negative.

Custer was fearless. How did that work out?

Marrying fearless with foolish is not a winning prescription.

Happy (and shocked) Blake made G league, but no way he is a NBAer.

Latest view of dratings shows UR with lowest seed of all teams not in because they were a regular season champ ousted in their tourney.

And we will fall out in the next update as Iona gets added.

Imma need what you're smoking if you actually think that.
AlexanderHamilton, I made this prediction at the end of January — I would not say the same thing now. It wouldn’t shock me if we won but I’d also not be surprised if we lose tonight or tomorrow. Reality is we have potential to beat any team in the league, but that doesn’t mean we are capable of putting together four straight wins. My money is on the spiders in each of the remaining games.

As expected, DRatings dropped us from their NIT Bracketology as Iona took a spot.

They also moved Utah State in thanks to their drubbing of Air Force yesterday, moving Fresno State out after they needed OT to get by a bad San Jose State team.

Talking about bubbles could Davidson be on it if a loss tomorrow and a Wyoming win tonight ? I believe only 5 Mids got at-large bids last year? MWC has SDST, Boise St, and Colo St and WCC has SF and St Mary's can we say are locks. Add Houston or Memphis and we have 5. Wyoming #44 net while Davidson is #46.

According to kenpom the MW is heads and shoulders above other mid leagues at 7th strongest while the A10 is 11th. Though I haven't looked at the P6 schools much so maybe they will get a few less bids this year?

Speaking of that I’m in a weird dilemma here. I don’t see how Tech wouldn’t be in the tournament now after the last three days but the “experts” still have them very much on the bubble. If they don’t beat Duke tonight and Richmond makes it to the A10 title game with a chance to steal a bid I might be presented with a tough choice. I think the a10 is a one bid League though so im not too worried yet. Of course if tech just beats Duke I have nothing to worry about either but that’s a tall order.

No dilemma. You root for Richmond (at least when you’re writing in this board).

Better imo for Va tech for UR to win … if Dayton and VA tech are last two in bubble, Dayton sort of has the tiebreaker given Dec game

I think they are both in pretty easily, even with loses.

Yes Dayton on the bubble, they are playing for their NCAA life today. On one hand that worries me. On the other, hopefully they are tight. Knowing a loss knocks them out.
We are playing for our NCAA life as well. We just need to win two games.
