Nick Sherod updates

I hear he is a great kid, hard worker, good player, and will help someone -- we need kids that can compete at the A10 level and above. I hope he continues to improve and gets lots of choices, he may yet prove he can compete at that level, he's got time
I am all for a good basketball player. Tired of the "athletic" masonry majors.

TJ didn't get any major offers coming out of high school. Some players improve every year, and some don't.

Saw Nick working out in the Robins Center tonight. I am always surprised how big Nick looks. He appears to be the best pure shooter we've had at UR in a number of years.

You guys will believe me sooner or later that we got at least two very good players.

Yep, Nick may be truly 6'3", but when he was on ESPN on an AAU game last summer, I said he looked like a legit 6'5"-6'6" wing, for which I got challenged on here. But all of these guys extend their height listing a little, and in that game with alot of top talent, he looked to have good size and legit talent. Really good recruiting class, but would be great to finish off with one or two more legitimate big forwards.

I'm 6'3 and stood next to Nick at a game this year and he appeared to be exactly the same height as me. Unfortunately, unlike Nick, I am out of eligibility and my range is about 5 feet, not 25 as is his.

I've got to decide what to start calling my kid. he's finishing 8th grade at a true 6'5" barefoot. guess we'll go 6'7" or more in the program next year.

Well, I for one am ready for football and basketball to get going in 2016. Ready to see what young Mr. Sherod and his incoming teammates have to offer.

Nick's senior highlights up on his Hudl page. By his highlights he should definitely help the shooting of the lineup.

So many long threes early in the shot clock, Curry has had a big impact on the game.

Nick has zero qualms about taking long three's whenever. It will be interesting to see how that evolves with our offense. Mooney will certainly want him to get a better look than some of the shots he took in high school, but yet he can make them.

Nick has a good handle, is long and athletic, and man what a quick and accurate release; not difficult to see why he had so many P5 offers. Getting pomped op for this coming season! OSC

I have no problem with a good shooter taking an open shot in his range early in the shot clock. you may not get that open look again later.

Agreed, I remember Kendall shooting 3's on fast breaks so often. If you are a great shooter and you're open you should take it, regardless of time on the shot clock (except end game situations, etc). This is especially true for us, since we are so unlikely to grab an offensive rebound (i.e. no need to wait for your teammates to get into good rebounding position).

I agree, and Curry has changed what people consider 'in-range' to be.

awesome. TJ seems like the go to voice/interview of the current team. looks like we have our go to guy for the next 4 years.
