Seems like a monumental improvement. I would like to see the algorithm myself at some point, though looking at its predictive and retrodictive performance over the course of the coming season will be enlightening.

No, Kenpom is purely predictive. This new system should be more predictive than the RPI, but also includes things like ‘resume’ and therefore should have some retrodictive component as well. This will likely mean that it will be worse than Kenpom at predicting game outcomes.
