Maybe we need to bump up CM salary by a half million and reach $1.8 mil which is the reported salary of Gonzaga coach Mark Few. (Alright you know this is tongue in cheek) My point is look at the difference in what another half million will bring your way!

32, I agree the student did reinforce many of the points made on this board, none of which seem to matter to the AD’s office.

You are obviously a proud supporter of all Spider sports and obviously believe in Mooney. Is your premise that Mooney is a great basketball coach because he played at Princeton? He sure hasn’t done anything lately that other Athletic Directors would point to as exemplary.

My biggest problem is that CM is the highest paid employee of the University of Richmond and basically is the poster child for “money doesn’t solve everything”. He is being paid at the same level as the highest performing Mid-major coaches with an ever lowering fraction of the results. How can UR justify paying him a premium for being a good representative of the University, whatever that means.

You can't blame Mooney for taking the money unless self reflection is a consideration, and the fact that's he's still cashing checks says self reflection isn't a consideration. Those who still back him, believe in false hope, and cut the checks are the bigger problem.

I wish Mooney would adapt (or more specifically be fired), but I don’t blame him 1 bit for cashing his checks.

I don’t understand how being overpaid for his production is his fault, that’s the UR administration’s fault. If my bosses wanted to overpay me, I wouldn’t stop them out of self reflection. I would take the money and say thank you.

Not sure how folks are getting that I blame CM for cashing the checks. I am blaming the AD for overpaying him. It would be nice to know how much of his salary is actually from the school versus outside athletic funding. If it is mostly money from Q then maybe that is why it doesn’t matter.

I would be cashing them too if I were Mooney. Queally is running the show and mooney making 1 or 10 million is nothing to him, so the money will not be a driving force for change.

I hope you weren't lumping me in there. I never had you in mind when I made my post about not blaming Mooney for ca$hing check$.

I just wish he'd leave for the good of the program 'cause it certainly looks like he's here indefinitely. Facts of 16 years speak to that in spite of current contract timetable.
