Nothing too enlightening but that's because we all follow the program closely. But good to have media attention regardless. Regarding newcomers who could contribute he started with Crabtree and also brought up Isaiah Wilson fwiw.
What I don't get is Mooney reluctance to talk about expectations, goals, how good we can be etc. Rothstein gave him that question and Mooney spoke in generalities and also wants to get the team back together first. Mooney is not a promoter but this is an opportunity lost.
Mooney got a direct question on NCAA expectation last year, it is the only way to get a direct answer. I think he's pretty honest when he gets a direct question but otherwise he reverts to his we want to compete style sort of like he did here. Why not say we have NCAA expectation at bare minimum. We do, that will be no surprise to anyone. Rothstein is well known college bball media. He has us at I think 32. Goodman has us at 13. It can't hurt to say hey Jon we think you're under ranking us. Say it in a fun way if u want. Say we think we can be a top 25 team all year. Because maybe Rothstein listens and moves us up some. Get our name out there. U get both Goodman & Rothstein putting us in top 25 then maybe we r getting in more preseason polls & coaches poll. Media cracks open the door u got to kick it in sometimes.
Creates excitement, and honestly the higher you start out the faster you can move up. Plus it helps with fans. Casual fans want to come, and the loyal fanbase is more into it. Got to push for the recognition sometimes, it is for the program's benefit. Being ranked that's a big deal, and a huge deal here at Richmond.
