Here are one person's observations of Monday's practice:

1 - Marshall Wood hit the floor hard, then went over to the side where the trainer looked at his knee. One of the women's basketball coaches saw it and thought that he would be alright. Sat for the rest of practice. Anyone who finds out how he is, please post.

2 - Friendshuh ran the court pretty well today. Looks bulkier than last year. Still a bit rusty, but looked good enough for me to be encouraged. That means that he wasn't sitting on the sideline with some sort of cast or brace.

3 - DeMonte looked good on offense and defense. Still learning the offense - but has energy and toughness. Quite a physical specimen.

4 - Grant Golden still looks like the best big we have brought in, and doesn't seem to make many mistakes. He and Solly both look taller than advertised.

5 - Shawndre and Kwan looked to really fit in what we're doing and remain sort of invisible - meaning that I didn't see many mistakes. Ball handling was good.

6 - Looked like we played a little 1-2-2 defense today, if my eyes aren't playing tricks.

7 - The transfer from VUU and Joe Kirby are really good practice players. Another way to make a team better. Sherod got after it on defense today.

8 - TJ looked the part of a senior at today's practice. Good decision-making all around. Highlight was him really ripping down a rebound from another player.

9 - Hope we either get the Seegars kid or the Verbinskis kid on Nov. 14th. We need to get an all-purpose 3 who can switch to the 4. Of course, a 6'9" 230 pounder that we don't know we're recruiting would be a good thing, too. I almost lost my lunch when Wood went down.

This will be an interesting season. Who will step up? Who will surprise us? Can't wait.

Stork, thanks for the report as always. Really excited for Solly in future years, I believe at least two folks on here have mentioned he looks bigger in person than listed. From the tape he has a really good skill set for his size.

Freshman are sounding like they want some time on the court!

Thanks for the recap.

BTW, Seegars already committed to Asheville.

Good to hear Paul is back on the practice court. Really pulling for him to stay healthy. It would be a boost to to our depth inside.
Me too!!! Glad Paul is playing again. We will need him. Fine young man too.
