Monday 2pm Vs. Wofford

Not mad at it on short notice and looking for a home game with the short turnaround. Seem to be a Q3 game better than CofC would've been but not as tough as Furman, they'll definitely put up a fight. Hope the few days off doesn't leave us rusty, balances out with them basically playing two scrimmages beforehand instead of seeing what they really have with their team.

Should be a middle of the pack SoCon team, so not a resume builder for us, but not a bottom feeder. Certainly not the top tier team they were a couple of seasons ago.

Played a couple of non-DI games over Thanksgiving weekend, but their subsequent games against NC Central and Presbyterian have been canceled.

Definitely a team we can’t take too lightly, but not one a ranked squad should lose to.

30-5 two years ago with a NCAA tournament win. 19-16 last year with a below .500 conf record. As noted first two games against D2 competition doesn’t tell us a whole lot.

Traditionally a good three point shooting team. Their top two scorers in their first two games are senior guards. Neutralize the guards and win the rebounding/turnover battle and should be fine.

Mike Young got out of Dodge at the right time, when he had a ton of seniors.

Yep.

That run (especially the 7 seed in the last tourney) did wonders for Wofford's admissions, donations, and national notoriety. Not many people outside of FCS football fans and the SoCon footprint had even heard of Wofford. Young took them to the tourney in 2010 and 2011 (sound familiar?) and three more times in the next 8 seasons (sound unfamiliar?).

Wofford is a cool little school and in a nice college town. Had a great time there when we beat them in the playoffs a number of years back.

Ahhh, Spartanburg SC, the armpit of the South. One year their downtown water tower collapsed and wrecked a 5 square block area. Cars, buildings, and businesses were destroyed. Undeterred, they rebuilt the water tower.

2007.Jerry Richardson has been a big benefactor to Wofford over the years. In 2016 he funded the Rosalind Sallenger Richardson Center for the Arts, in honor of his wife of over sixty years, on the Wofford College campus. In 2017, he funded Wofford's state-of-the-art Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.
The home of the Wofford College Athletic Department since 1996 is the Richardson Physical Activities Building.

Grandson coached tight ends here a couple of years ago.

I had a good time there. Loved the stadium and atmosphere, a group of us went out to a cool sports bar on the main street after we won. Good times.

One of my teachers went to Wofford and told the tale on he and some of his classmates. A Professor that was hard on them, but a good guy. Had a Model T he loved. So they decided to sneak over when he was gone, took the Model T apart carried it to the roof of his garage and reassembled it.

After an appropriate amount of good laughs they took it apart brought it down and reassembled it.

Can only imagine what kind of problems there might be if they did the same thing today.

Still no Weir. Getting more concerning.

Agreed. Not sure what is going on there but Mooney is generally a pretty forgiving and keep stuff in house type of coach, so Mooney letting it be publicly known as not living up to standards is concerning. Granted he was asked by media, so he really can't just lie about it. Still get it together, Andre.

Go to class, do your homework, don't do anything illegal, show up and practice hard. This isn't complicated stuff here.

This is unfortunate but I guess we have to trust the coaches. During the latter parts of the Kentucky game when Grace fouled out and Grant had four fouls it would have been nice to have had a 6-10 265 pound freshman available if needed.

Hopefully this gets worked out and Wier and Mooney get on the same page.

This is definitely not the Wofford team that won 30 games a couple years ago.
