This looks like a downward move for Houston other than Charlotte being in FBS. Plus, the announcement was made while JMU is still in the playoffs. That’s got to double sting for JMU fans

I just realized that the best part of Houston leaving JMU is the potential for Huesman to win back some of the recruits he was going after who verballed to JMU over us

This is exactly the first thing that came to mind. Empty the brinks truck and bring him back home. Wouldn’t mind having Jeff Hansen back either.

This is the biggest news for us this offseason. Even better that it was for a program with absolutely no history.

Russ’ lesson from all this-You get to the top of the heap if and only if you have top assistant coaches or recruiters.Russ needs to cull the staff while forgetting about past loyalties or friendships.Otherwise, we will continue in mediocrity and he’ll be out of a job.

I agree. I was hoping we would have a little news in that regard by now. It got me thinking ...what's the correct timing to make a change to an assistant coach or two now? We have a signing period next week.

The question is: what individuals can coach and recruit at the same time.We keep them.

I believe we have 3-4 of our coaches who don’t recruit or don’t know how to recruit.

We get rid of guys who can’t coach and can’t recruit.

Let John Srofe handle the admin side of recruiting.Not Legg,Not Moon.

With this recruiting class coming in for 2019 we will have over 20 newbies added onto the roster.These are 17-18 year old kids.We better have coaches who can coach or Russ will only have 2 more years running the program.

It's odd that ECU fired Scotty two days before the NCSt game and apparently it cost them an extra $400k in buy out. One reason is they want to get Houston change his mind.
