For those who didn't watch the whole postgame last night, JOC asked Mooney about the MTE situation. He talks about how so much has changed and how the fields for these used to be set much sooner, of course avoiding the fact that our field was by far the last one to be announced, and that VCU and others already have MTEs lined up not just for 2025, but 2026.
I think the Mooney response comes down to “if you say it enough maybe it gets accepted as the truth.” That being said, scheduling isn’t the key issue with the program at this point.
I wish we had local media that would point out every new coach at VCU is eating our lunch and they schedule these MTE's and why he is in bed with Gazelle group only??
Even as bad as we are, that sounds like a horribly close result for us.
Right, but the scheduling is an area, like many areas that just slip for some reason - and the answer is: IT IS SO HARD. Waaaahhhh.

That clip doesn’t show JOC question. It was specific to Spiders & this MTE. JOC asks too many open ended questions imo but this 1 wasn’t. Moon clearly didn’t want to answer it and gave some generic response about mte trends.

Sadly I'm 90% sure tomorrow I am going to hit CANCEL on my Delta ticket I bought for this tourney in September. Just don't think I can rationalize taking the time off from work and family for the Monday/Tuesday games since I was already planning to fly back to the RVA on Wed morning.
I remain all-in with ~ 8 other friends however to attend the Miracle on the Plains scheduled at noon on 12/8.
It’s too bad because Thanksgiving week is a pretty great week to catch some afternoon hoops. But let’s be honest this is an appropriate tournament for Flo.

I can't believe that we won the A-10 regular season championship THIS CALENDAR YEAR. It feels like about a million years ago now. Every third game is against a D2 team. We can barely score 50 points against D1 opposition. No one can shoot. We don't play defense. Can't watch our games without paying for some third-rate streaming crap. Feels like basketball season has already ended.

You should binge the non-Spider games in the event plus whatever else is on Flo over the next month to bring your per-game cost way way down.
