wow! after suffering dramatic losses at the hands of Jones (Davidson)and Williams (VCU) the Spiders inflicted some last second pain of their own tonight...Gilyard with the winner...I'll be expecting someone in the PR department to figure out how many near "walk off" winners Gilyard has produced in his five seasons...that's probably another career record!

however his shots may not have made us a winner against the game Patriots without the outstanding defense in the final 5:25 when the Spiders launched an 11-2 run to win the game...Andre Gustavson was right in the middle of several stops and Matt Grace's block in the final minute made Gilyard's shot a winner...

the first 35 minutes looked very much like the Spiders we have seen often this season...Mason killed us on the boards...shut down our inside game totally, forcing us to fire up threes...they held Tyler Burton to 3 points in the first half...

but tonight it was our guys who made the big plays at the end of the game...that was different...congrats to the team on an important win...

it should be another entertaining battle on Wednesday in Fairfax...

Go Spiders!

Anybody else notice the bench get on the court way too soon after making the shot?
I blame Mooney for not having control of his players and team once again. :)
Im mostly kidding but that could’ve been horribly bad.

Unbelievable ending. After banging on Golden / Grace defense, will say that was an excellent contest without fouling by Grace on the loose ball lay up attempt. Burton - you got lucky - you cannot give up that uncontested layup there, though Gilyard's shot still would have been game winner - albeit there would have been a little more pressure.
