you nailed it for me Ferrum...if we couldn't build a team more successful than this one coming off a 23-10 season and with some fairly recent A-10 and NCAA Tournament success, how in the heck will we build one coming off of this woeful season.
Other than possible immediate playing time, there's not really a compelling reason to come to our program that I can think of...total rebuild situation, no big NIL $, unusual basketball philosophy that takes time to meld, etc. etc.
you're right that in 2017 and 2018 seasons Golden, Gilyard, Sherrod and company gave us hope for the future...if our two red shirts can't break this lineup, I hope our three incoming freshmen are stronger than anything we've seen since Burton...otherwise to future looks awful dim...
the timing of this collapse could not be worse...with college basketball radically changing, we sit at NET #242...with very little credible leverage within the changing environment...it's a terrible place to be and very sad!
I hope I've got enough seasons left to see us climb out of this hole!
