Maryland 11/25

Maryland isn't good. If we are good, we should win by 10-12. I don't know if we are good, though.

Hopefully Daron will have another unimpressive game as he normally does against us

After us, 3 of Md's next 4 games are against either Louisville/Miss. St., VT, and Fla. Even though Md. will likely be a quad one game regardless, I could see the Turtles winning one or two of those, which would make us beating them look that much better.

Not sure why EL insists they are not any good. They have a lot talent. Turgeon has recruited well, and they have some talented transfers who had success elsewhere. 2 of their bench guys are a 4 star recruit and a guy who has scored 1000+ points at ODU. They also have a possible NBA guard in Ayala. I think we are getting them at the right time because with so many new talented guys on their team, they will likely get better and better as the year goes on.

Why do I think they are not good? Maybe because they barely beat GW at home (who sucks), lost to George Mason at home (who is ok) and only beat Hofstra at home by two. This is a game we absolutely must win, no excuses. It's not going to get us in the tournament if we do win it, but it's not going to look like a great loss if we lose it.

Agree, not sure why 4700 is trying to pump the excuses before the game. This is a team we should handle. Although the pg match up is a mismatch, I do fear that after being used and abused for years by Gilly, fAAtS will be super motivated and is due for a good game against us.

We owe Maryland from a few years ago when we blew it against them. They were beatable then, they are more beatable now. We need to beat them.

they r beatable. They r not going to give it to us of course we have to fight 4 it but we should be locked in to win this tourney. Otherwise the opportunities r fleeting. We’ve already lost two winnable games. We’ve won 3 home games as big favs & struggled more than expected in those. If we r really a good team as expected we should be due. Ncaa caliber teams have to win these ooc games & we’re 0-2 so far in similar ones. This would be a bad loss in context of position we r in so far, which is underachieving. A win here isn’t even over achieving. It’s just what we should be doing. Sorry kneepad while u r right too it doesn’t make it less true.

We're really leaning into the fact we've been getting off to crappy starts...now branding ourselves the "comeback kids."

"Richmond has a pair of 14-point comeback wins this season (NC Central, Hofstra). The Spiders enter the Bahamas Championship as the only team in Division I [with] a pair of 14-point (or greater) comeback wins this season."

& we’ll probably be the only D1 team to be down 14 at home to a team when u r 25+ favorites.

Extension!

I threw up a little at this post.

Until this teams shows it can be competent defense for 40 minutes, I'm not picking us to win any game where we have a legit opponent. We can be the comeback kids and play crappy defense for half the game against MEAC teams and 5th place CAA teams at home. We play like that against Maryland, it will be a L.

Mark me down for a loss, so I'm already mentally prepared for Mooney to ruin my Thanksgiving night (he's got a great gig though, I mean win or lose he makes around 15 grand on this trip, with all expenses paid to be in the Bahamas). So, Spiders fans might not have a great Thanksgiving but Mooney will win or lose.

If I'm wrong, I can be pleasantly surprised.

I have to spend Thanksgiving with a few dozen of my in-laws, so whether we win or lose, it's already ruined for me.
