LaSalle

We best watch out for LaSalle going forward. Howard can flat out recruit and now they have added Johnson who is one of the better recruiters in the country.

Look for LaSalle to have a top of the league recruiting class in the first full cycle these guys get. The league has no recruiting staff that can compare to these guys!
Philly, believe you may be on to something here.

Will a facility upgrade be in the offing or a new arena that has been talked about for several years?

Haven't heard anything in a number of years. They have no money.

I saw that they already picked up a four star transfer from somewhere. As others noted, G always loaded up on big name transfers too - with mixed results. In his defense, he did ride them to a sweet 16 one year. I have to say, that a guy coming from the Jay Wright coaching tree would seem like he has a shot, and sounds like he will bring in talent.
Folks always say when/if we get rid of Mooney it will set us back 3 more years. I don't really like the course we are on now. I think if you can bring in a dynamic coach, you can turn it around quick with a couple impact transfers and a couple good recruiting classes.

they'll recruit better than average for LaSalle, but recruiting to LaSalle is different than recruiting to Lousiville and Villanova.

It will test Hardt's "theory" that he gave on the Black and Drew show the other day that you need a 15 million dollar practice facility to recruit in this league, because we all know LaSalle has the sh*ttest facilities in the league.

Maybe there is something to this whole notion of having a head coach/coaching staff that can recruit is also key to the success in recruiting. Crazy talk, I know.

agreed. but if LaSalle doesn't start winning big with 2 of the supposed best recruiters, then that says a lot too.

La Salle has been a destination for 4* players who rode the bench in the P5 for at least the past 4 years (Jordan Price, Demetrius Henry, BJ Johnson) and yet they are 28-44 in the A10 over that time frame. The star rating of a player is useless once they have played against D1 competition.

La Salle's newest 4* transfer, David Beatty, was horrendous this year against D1 competition. Truly abysmal. He made 24 out of 107 shot attempts (26% from 2, 18% from 3), turned the ball over a lot, and did not contribute much in terms of defense. There is a reason he is transferring to La Salle, just like all the other former 4* players that have transferred there.

Yes SF you are correct they have no money. Does this coaching change mean the talk about possible move of LaSalle to a lesser league than the A-10 is off the table or was that idle chatter to start with?

But he was young. That is generally given a do over in these parts.

I would not want Kenny Johnson or anyone else from Louisville anywhere near our program.

La Salle picked up another P5 transfer last night...Scott Spencer from Clemson.
