I've never seen Chitwood miss - except that one time Coach Dale told him he didn't care if he played on the team or not.
Maybe Moon thinks he can carry them forward to the next game. Stockpiling timeouts.
I'm not going to go look at the RTD, but I think I read something about more minutes for Sal?
Proof positive. I was at the game tonight, but unless I missed something he never got off the bench. He deserves a few minutes, and the rest would help starters.

The perfect illustration of CM coaching late in games was on display tonight. He called timeout late, supposedly to set up a play. We throw the ball to JG who jacks a 3 from the Spider logo at midcourt. What the hell did CM draw up in the timeout? Unbelievable. Please Mr. Hardt, put an end to this. And even though Matt Smith said we fans are the reason the Spiders play tight down the stretch and can’t close a game, we deserve much better. Hey Matt, our coach has proven time and again that he has no clue how to close a game out late. It has nothing to do with fans.
I believe all Mooney cares about at this point is depositing that $100,000 check every month.

Matt Smith are you serious??? I know you are on here and read this board. This is not the fans fault. It's your beloved coach Mooney's fault that this program is where it is. The fans will have more energy and there will be a better atmosphere when we have a new coach. Hope you are around to see it materialize but if I had it my way you would be gone too with Mooney. Don't ever call the fans out again!
Matt Smith is a big joke. Please disregard this homer's talk. Why doesn't he stop broadcasting the games and go in the crowd with VT4700 and cheer the team to victory very loudly. Hope to hell that the new regime does not let this guy near the program. A cancer.
Couldn’t agree more. The Robins Center was as loud tonight as it was the other night (St. B) when Mooney said in the postgame that the fans were great.
The team does tighten up at home, but it has nothing to do with the fans. It is a lack of confidence - period.

I was at the game and didn’t notice any fan malfeasance that worked counter to the team’s success. It was actually reasonably full and supportive tonight.

Completely agree. I will email the AD and contact the new coach. If this garbage is back on our broadcasts I will make it a personal challenge to get him removed.
the 'atmosphere' for this game was pretty good, loud decent attendance (of course lots of school kids filled many of the seats.
Blaming the fans won't help Matt, It's like a restaurant blaming the patrons for lousy food.
My goodness, I hope not. Last game, we made our 3s and FTs. This game we didn't. Really not that hard to figure out why we lost. No need to blame the fans.

Is there not some student interested in broadcast journalism that we could get some experience calling spider games, working on the football sidelines and helping Robert Fish in hoops? Why does Matt Smith find a way to control discussion by pissing off stakeholders year after year?

What was the play that we ran when we were down by three and Golden ended up chucking up a three? That "play" was a disaster and Mooney should have recognized it and called timeout. Instead with the game on the line, our center is shooting an off-balance three-pointer. Unbelievable.

You can bet Eight Leggers ranch that that place wasn’t 92% full but the folks who were there were into until the last 5 minutes or so when LaSalle got every rebound and loose ball and the team pulled out the patented Mooney pucker up in crunch time.

Our lack of any plan on how to score when Golden threw up a 3 attempt as the shot clock wound down looked like a game of "hot potato" - here you do something I don't want it................
