La Salle Game Thread

Man I miss the halftime mascot game it always provided some quality entertainment.

I feel so bad for the players. They deserve so much better as a head coach, I hope next season we give that to them.

Over 10 seconds on the shot clock and Golden throws up a 3. Jesus. Call a timeout you have 2 left

Are they trying to lose? They haven't been close to hitting anything in the last couple of minutes.

The score with 15 minutes left in the game was 43-34.

From that point on they outscored us 32-15.

I spent my time hanging a ceiling fan in the den. Time better spent than watching this hot garbage in person. Seats sat empty again.

I hate it when we lose. Hate it. I always want us to win.

But if this gets us one step closer to change, then I'll just accept it as part of the process that will get us headed in the right direction again.

This cannot stand.

I’m st this point at well. I root for us to win, but losing doesn’t bother me as much as I see it as one step further to a coaching change.

Guys played hard. Could’ve used an extra man in the rotation to help with legs down the stretch.

Also, I think the final score is flattering. La Salle, an excellent free throw shooting team, uncharacteristicly missed a bunch from the line. Could’ve been worse...

Things that stick out from this game:
  1. They were out coached in the second half by a first year coach and staff.
  2. Spiders were out played and out hustled in the second half especially when it came to rebounding.
  3. As usual, sub 65% from the free throw line. Making half of the free throws they missed would have at least kept them “competitive” in the game.
  4. Why not call Timeout (2 TO left) when Cayo had possession of the ball underneath backboard with less than 55 seconds in the game and/or before Golden put up a shot from behind the arc.
I could keep going but what’s the point? If the AD doesn’t realize that LaSalle came out in the second half and out played and out coached the spiders, the problem isn’t the head basketball coach, the issue is the AD who lets this program settle for these type of games.
