JB

It isamazing that Beilein could coach this group to the title game. Outside of Wagner, there's not a ton of exceptional talent on the roster. JB is the best.
Eight, you or I may not recognize the talent, but last I checked Coach Beilein has a number of players the "experts" recognized as 4 or 5 star talents.

Heck of a coach.

JB did well at Canisius with Canisius level recruits. Obviously not going to win a national championship there. So he move up a level.

He did well at Richmond with Richmond level recruits. He wasn't going to win a national championship here either. So he moved up a level.

He did well at WVU with WVU level recruits. He probably wasn't going to win a national championship there either. So he moved up a level.

Now he's on the verge with Michigan level recruits. He doesn't have to move again.

Yes, but compare what he has at Michigan to what Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan St, UNC have and he does not have the level of recruit that those programs do, with the exception of Wagner.

If JB wins tonight, it might be his greatest coaching job ever. Nova is playing lights out, has the POY in Brunson and few weeks spots to exploit. I think JB will expose some weak spots in Nova, but talent wise, Nova has a clear edge.

he doesn't have the same level of recruit as those programs. tough to do cleanly, I'd imagine. still recruits well now because it's Michigan.

that was a "complaint" of JB while he was here too. he doesn't out-recruit his level. but he finds the right kind of kid for his system.

JB taking a butt whipping in San Antonio, sad to see.

Masters up next.

Villanova was just a much better team. JB got a lot more out of his team than anyone expected. Nova was just tough.

I will always have a major soft spot for JB. His first season was my senior year at UR. All those CAA tournament games that year and the win over South Carolina in the NCAA's. I had a chance to meet him a few years after I graduated before one of our early season tournaments out in Vegas. I think we were about to play a ranked Cincinnati team and coach literally just wanted to talk to my buddy and I about how we were doing and if we were having a good time in Vegas. Great coach and a really nice man.

Yep. I met him a couple of times (casually) and always pleasant. Happened to see a picture of him recently with Eric Poole, and the two of them looked really happy to see one another, as well. Great to see former players appreciate him, too.
