Still casting a wide net with options. Gotta get guys in still. Not everyone that visits is in the same tier. No idea how they all could be. Just my 2 cents. If we land a 25 year old u and studentspider17 can cc me.
The $ part of visit is a blip in big picture. I imagine guys r visiting at same time too. Think that’s been reported b4. Also just a guess but we’re probably doing less hs visits so possibly replacing budget there. But yeah some added cost overall during the portal spree. I imagine all portal visits r considered official visits but honestly don’t know. No rules.
Would love to know who the other 2 are and what they are waiting for.
my understanding on transfer visits (which are different from high school visits) is that anyone visiting is also offered in the "exit interview". which is why you try to get the guys you're most interest in early. as I've said before, it's speed dating. "we want you, the spot is yours if you want it right now, we've got other visits scheduled for the same spot we're offering you (which we'll cancel if you take it), but otherwise we can't hold it for you if the next guy visiting at your spot wants it".
I think it's probably unusual for a visit to not go well. but sure you could pull back if that's the case.
I thought u said the offer was b4 the visit. I could have misread.
idk exactly how it works...but my feeling is a little different. while there is pressure bc things move fast and stock answer is always visit goes well, I think there is a higher likeihood of something being off...because of the very short getting to know you period. Also, u can't always get your top targets in right away, for varied timing reasons. I don't see the "u get the ship because we were able to coordinate a visit 2 days earlier" as a great way to run things myself. Obviously with some guys you would want to close the deal immediately.

Yep, I think we are reverting to the plan we all thought was coming. A few minimal pick ups in the portal. Long game running out the young guys. The excitement of the portal over all and early activity reports had me a little hopeful. But not sure why when Hardt is talking about being sensible. We still need to hope we do have a couple more spots and they can find a couple under the radar prospects, but I am not hopeful.
Mooney fielding a 2nd consecutive non-competitive roster might not be the worst thing long term for our program in my opinion. Mooney did look worn out by the end of the year .
