Will you guys bring a good contingent up north? I always love when the opponent has a decent little crowd. It's fun to listen when they make a play and the crowd is silent except for the small group in the corner that is going crazy.
C U @ D Ball Game Saturday! For those of you making the trip below is everything you need to have a good time in Grand Forks.
If you like to hold you pinky out and drink fine wine or bourbon or martinis Sky's, The Toasted Frog, and Giuseppe's will have what you're looking for. They're all downtown and aren't all that expensive even though they are higher end types of places.
If you like sushi and Tai food Little Bangkok in East Grand Forks is the place.
Pizza? Rhombus guys is cool and has a huge variety and is also located downtown. Up North in East Grand Forks is a new wood fire place and is also really good.
JL Beers for 30 something tap beers and some of the best burgers around. My personal favorite place for burgers is Speedway Bar and Grill which is straight north of the Alerus. It's like a nice dive with good food. It's famous for thursday nights with all you can eat ribs and $1 cans of cheep beer (Grain Belt, Busch Light, Keystone Light, Natty Light, Hamms, etc.)

If you want authentic Grand Forks go to the Red Pepper and get an everything grinder with white sauce, hard shell Schneiders (tacos with all the sauces) and a few cheese tostadas. It's "mexican" food, not authentico at all but classic Grand Forks.
For breakfast food Darcys is the way to go. A Dave's special with two extra eggs and pancakes is my go to. It's a hole in the wall old time diner. Maybe seats 30.
If you like Cajun, believe it or not, we actually have a great place. The Parrots Cay is a divey little place on the south end that is attached to a gas station. It's not easy to find but it's worth it. Great wings, lavash, and every cajun staple you could ask for. The spice level of everything is adjustable. It goes up to something like 40 but a 12 is about the same as Buffalo Wild Wings' Blazin. There's regular buffalo style sauce and shark sauce. Go with the shark. I usually get wings and lavash and sauce on the side to dip in. It doesn't open till 4pm.
The Wild Hog has BBQ. It's on the very south end of town.
We have one brewery in town, Rhombus Guys, the beer is decent but the building it's in is great. They have apps but no meals.
As far as bars go there are a million of them. Dive bars as far as the eye can see. Playmakers and The Tavern are attached to the Alerus complex which is convenient for those staying in that area. Downtown has a bunch of bars but on the weekend it will be packed with college kids so I'd avoid that loop if I were you. Speedway is my favorite bar in town because it's pretty low key and has the best bloody marrys in town.
