Great fight by our guys to get a big W.

Terry's physical play was the key to our win.

Shawndre is going to be a star.

Much of the GW team looked disinterested, sauntering on and off the court with their heads hung. I know they havent met expectationa but they still have a lot to play for. Lonergan may have lost the team.

I've got my 6 pack and my broom. Is it 4pm on Wednesday yet?

I thought we got good, determined play from a lot of guys, but to me, the 4 steals each, by TJ and Terry, were very big.

Great win by a very determined Richmond team. Over the past few years GW has changed speed for size and it shows. Our rebounding continues to improve - 14 offensive boards - and TA with 10 rebounds and TD with 8 - great job!

Sdj has really stepped up his game in the past month. We would not be winning without his stellar play. Glad he plays for us.

was this the death blow for lonergan? obviously does not know how to coach.

Enjoyed the game today. Spiders are playing hard. I agree that we are rebounding much better recently. I thought our defense was excellent and really frustrated GW. TA is a double double machine and SDJ is playing with a lot of confidence. SDJ can get to the rim and I hope he continues to do it more and more. JJ is a guy with a high upside. I would like to see him be more aggresive. It encouraging that we are winning games with Kendal not playing his best. Bring out the broom Wednesday. SWEEP RPI.

So long as the Colonials have a fan Fifteen hundred miles away that has the inane ability to say everything and nothing at the same time to support him, Lonergan should be just fine.

Shawndre has stepped up play it's great to see him be more aggressive with confidence. I really like the job the guys have been doing stepping in and stealing the entry passes. Seems like we've been doing more of that of late since ANO went out. Been a nice adjustment. Let's take care of VCU and that would be a great 3 game stretch.

Terrific defense today all around. Good denial of entry passes which lead to steals. Out D frustrated the hell out of GW

Good things happen when we rebound...critical. My only luke warm concern today was free throw shooting...especially in the first half.Other than that, it was a good game to win and setup for VCU's return to the RC.

This has been a major improvement in Terry Allen's defensive game all season, he's been great at forcing turnovers and stealing the ball.

+1.

Loved seeing how TJ was used on O. Forcing Larsen out on the perimeter to guard him kept them out of that 1-3-1 and opened up the lane. That second foul on TJ was terrible and allowed GW to get back into the game. Solid win leading into the RPI game.

No clue if TJ elbowed Larsen or not but he was under the big man's skin.
I'd like for him to spend a week with Dan Geriot in the offseason to learn this art a bit better.

I'm sure Dan can offer pointers but I think TJ will surpass Dan in this regard before he graduates.

A couple other observations.

1. DT and TD: These guys continue to explore new depths of offensive ineptness, but TD grabbed some absolute man rebounds and DT made some great hustle plays to get us some additional offense possessions and was active on defense.

2. CM usually drives me absolutely crazy with his offense-defense substitutions. I thought his management of that today was spot on, particularly with DT and TJ. GW clearly was trying to force feed Larsen the ball to get TJ in foul trouble, CM was able to protect TJ from that with his subs.

3. Other things that CM does that drives me crazy is his quick hook for some players. Josh Jones made quite possibly the worst inbounds pass you could make in the second half. CM justifiably yanked him and he didn't see the court again until 6 seconds left in the game. Bet JJ doesn't do that again.

4. Larsen is a whiny little b*tch. Dude runs 6'10 and about 280, how about he act like it. I loved it when he was all over TJ harassing him like some little guard and TJ then dropped a 3 bomb right over him.

5. GW with their significant height advantage and out inability to rebound should have manhandled us on the board. That didn't happen, because we actually went after rebounds hard and tough on both ends.

I thought we pretty much controlled the game and did what we wanted to do and similarily GW couldn't do what they wanted to do.

Great Win. Congratulations. Good to see the scoring spread around. Hitting the offensive boards was nice to see. Double Double by Terry.

The officiating was bizarre. touch fouls one minute the muggings ignored. GW had only three fouls called against them, then in the last 10 minutes, and they get three quick like within a minute(some what inexplicable) I think the calls probably helped us more than hurt but it was horrible in both directions.

^^Agree. In a season full of crummy officiating in the RC, this crew was the worst. The non call of Josh's drive was stunningly bad.

really liked the toughness and energy the Spiders played with tonight...we got the 50-50 balls right from the beginning and throughout the game...great practice for the Broad Street Rams Wednesday...

27-17 advantage in points off turnovers and second chance points won this one for the Spiders...amazing 14-9 advantage on the offensive boards and fought the Colonials to a draw overall on the boards...we wanted those rebounds today...

think we'll need to shoot better against RPI Wednesday...

Larsen doesn't seem like the same player he was earlier in the year and last year. Like he's gotten soft and giving less effort. Could be me but it feels that way. Nonetheless so good to get two wins in a row with Kendall struggling. Bodes well if we can keep it up.

FWIW, I heard Kendall missed practice Friday, presumably with an illness. I suspect RPI will get his best effort.

They only called 3 fouls on GW in the first 16 minutes of the second half. Really absurd. Glad we could overcome it, but we continue to get screwed at home by the refs.

I wonder if Moliva has jumped off the Lonergan bandwagon yet

. Just kidding. They seemed to be the new "it" team last year, but some players seemed to have regressed a bit, or maybe just came back to earth and scouting reports caught up. Of course if they get hot in the A10 tourney, they could get all that mojo back.
