GW Coach is gone

Of course my point is that there are no guarantees that a new coach will solve our
problems. (And I am in the “time to change” camp).

Yep, no guarantees at all but we pretty much know what we have in hand. Time to take an educated chance on something else.

I fired an employee the other day. Nice guy, had been with me seven years or so but never really was motivated to do the job the way I needed it done. I hung onto him longer than I should have. I could have kept him around and known what I was getting but I hired a new guy who I'm excited about. Could he come in and be even worse than the last guy? It's possible. But it was time to find out.

Ftr, EL fired me because I never chipped in for doughnuts and took a lot of gel pens home from the office. Total BS.

Careful or else I'm not giving you that golden parachute we discussed ...
Never mind people.

Please send along the dollar shave club membership as agreed, I expect to transfer rights to Grant G. He needs it more than I do, particularly given my current employment status.

Oh boy, good stuff. Yes , we see hires that look like home runs and 3 years later guy is canned. That is why I wish this had happened 3 years ago. We could either be celebrating that great hire and subsequent success, OR be in the same exact place we are now. Let's give it a shot.

Eight, you are funny, "all the good coaches we could have had". gw has hired how many good coaches we could have had so far? not making a statement that we should of should not have a new regime only that if we do and it stinks, will be kind of funny when it really should not be. we hired DT without a search firm, without a search committee and we looked great while we have hired guys with committees and firms and struck out. we need to be real, if we hire a new coach, does not mean he or she will be good only new.

Spinner, GW has had two good coaches in its last three. Hobbs won big there for a few years, Lonergan won the NIT and was derailed by his insane AD and then basically framed and fired. Joseph had no business being a head coach and everyone (including, I suspect, GW) knew it. They just had no money to pay anyone since they were still paying off Lonergan.

I am pretty sure if we were giving a new coach eight years and $10M tomorrow, he would do better than .500, one A10 tourney semifinal, one A10 regular season finish of third or better and zero NCAAs in that time – which is exactly what Mooney has compiled these past eight.

Listening to DC Sports Radio today, apparently JTIII is on the radar to be their next coach. He can recruit DMV pretty well. Seems like a good fit.

They also mentioned that MoJo had 3 years left on his deal and they made a change. I guess they could afford that if they fired Lonergan with cause. It just means that they're serious about competing in the A10 to make a change like that, while we're content on being doormats.
