Is anyone here suggesting that we should have gotten Grant Williams after he was offered by UT? If so, re-runs of the Twilight Zone are still available on antenna TV.
The guys who we have a real shot at, but who we lose to some other A-10 team or Colonial team, are the ones I am more realistically concerned about. Guys we lost to Florida (Chiozza) or Tennessee (Williams) are not realistic "losses" since most of those guys are going to the bigger name conferences, unless they are local guys (like Buck or Nick).
So, who really wanted to come here but we turned them down and they ended up being a big star somewhere else? That is the real question. These are the "real misses," and I bet there have not been many of those in the past 2-3 years. Even Bryce Golden should not count as a "miss," because we went "all-in" on him, we offered and wanted him very much, but he went to a school he thought might give him more visibility. Maybe he will change his mind given how well Grant did (A-10 all-rookie team) and how poorly Pitt has done, and how Stallings is now regarded. Still hoping for Bryce to re-consider and join Grant and get some major PT in his first year here. Hopefully, we are keeping in touch to the extent that we can within the rules (which may only include texts or calls from Grant, which should be permissible).
