It may not be used by the committee as a selection metric, but it certainly is still used informally as a gauge to measure where a team is versus the competition. You used it yourself in your post to make your point.
To answer your question, if we were better perhaps Grant would be considered for a Naismith Award, Wooden Ward, AP Award, or perhaps one of the position-specific awards like the Karl Malone or Jabbar awards. Because we are bad, he continues to play at an All-American level without the national recognition.

No I didn't. i said ranking. I did not say RPI. All the RPI is is your record, your opponents record, and then your opponents opponents record. It is by far one of the worst ranking systems ever, and even more so early in the year. If you think if we were 10-2, a sophomore big in the A-10 averaging around 20 a game would be considered for any of those awards you are kidding yourself. You are really reaching with your agenda here.
