Can't ride that FRS. I don't care for Thad Matta or OSU. I'm going with $conference. And I'm thinking every lambie win makes us look even better in this weird year.

not a buckeye fan but love the way mata coaches, makes his players tough. am with the pastor on this one though am not pulling for any deaths.

Isn't it the best interest of the conference if the three teams advance in the tournament? Not only will there be more money shared by the conference members, but also more national recognition. In addition this puts pressure on other members to improve their programs. Set aside your hatred for VCU and hope they advance. All members benefit. PS. I am not a VCU troll.

I don't like VCU so I hope they lose. don't love Matta either. I'll just watch another game. but I'll pick OSU.

Lamb posters are expressing their hatred of UR on their thread "Fur in NIT". One poster said a few thousand VCU fans should show up at the RC wearing Ram gear and cheer loudly for St.Francis, thus make it a home game for the visiting team! Another Lamie says he hopes UR loses by 100 points and that the A10 will ban Richmond from post season play for the next two years!

The hatred is so intense between UR and VCU! You gotta love it!

I don't think it really matters much, who I cheer for. However, I think it's beneficial to all of the A--10 member schools, for A-10 teams to do well against non A-10 schools. And I cheer in that vein.

Conference gets $1.8m per game. Each A-10 team should keep winning .Build up the coffers and distributions.Screw the Ohio State and the Big10 commish Delaney who thinks he's in control of everything related to Big time college sports. Why give the money to him?

Screw VCU, their team, fans and administration. Hope they're embarrassed by OSU.

The embarrassment was how many Spider fans I saw in Brooklyn this weekend. Attendance figures for UR was no better than St Joe's, Duquesne, etc.

I know Moliva already blasted Spider fans for the lack of attendance, but it really was pathetic.

I know many had legit excuses.

VCU's attendance was very impressive. For years we got so much grief about the CAA tourney being held here in town and what would our attendance be like if it was moved "north". I'd say we have proved our point.

It was 4 great days and money well spent!! The third time in the championship game was the charm and the "revenge tour" completed by beating the last 3 teams that beat us in the regular season. Treveon was the well deserved most outstanding player and Weber got to cut the final strand of the net. Couldn't have been any better.

Tough draw against OSU and being sent to Portland again, but we'll see what happens. Hopefully Davidson and Dayton go deep into the tourney too.
Feel like the league was "dissed" by the committee as far as seeding. Hope we prove them wrong.

The only thing that rivals our pathetic turnout in Brooklyn is the number of RPI-centric threads on this message board.

I don't like VCU but it would be best for A10 for all three teams to advance. It also makes UR's two victories over the Rams look even more impressive.

Mr. VCU, I appreciate your concern but some of us had prior scheduled work to do, The company was ok to function without the mailroom employees for a few days. As to my brethren in the NE, things were busy on Wall Street as the Dow was slipping.

Hey look everyone, here comes Mr. VCU to passively aggressively throw dirt in our faces. Seriously dude. You have your own board. We don't post sh!t like this on yours, so how about not bringing it to ours? Congratulations that your traveling circus with 159,000 living alumni was able to take 5,000 to NYC for a weekend. We'll print up a certificate of achievement and have it framed for you.

Why the F do you care if any Spiders were there? Did you go on the Davidson board and ask why they didn't also send 5,000 fans too? What about Dayton? Anything else you feel like lecturing us about tonight, or should we anxiously await your next visit for that? GTFO.

I thought highly paid execs, CEOs and successful attorneys could certainly find a reason to do business in NYC for a few days and work by email and phone when needed. Actually you could have been home by Friday night! ;)

Actually Dayton and Davidson were well represented. I was talking to a Davidson fan (from Philly) on the way to the arena.

Davidson made their fans an interesting offer for their Friday session. If they bought tickets and Davidson lost they would reimburse the cost of the ticket if they wanted their money back.

It seemed to work, they were well represented there.

Hey, guess what? Some of us aren't rich! Some of us can't leave the businesses that we own for 4 days! Imagine that. Sorry to burst your stereotype bubbles.

Almost backfired, Lasalle should have held on for the W.

Not sure if the same offer applied to Saturday session.

Eight Legger, I know and I hate stereotypes as much as anyone else, trust me.
Was just kidding.......

I thought the "northern presence" of younger alumni would actually help you guys out up there.

Maybe the alumni association doesn't organize for the tourney?
Not a big deal, was on my mind though and felt like posting about it.

It was also Davidson's first time playing in the A-10 tournament, and oh yeah -- they won the freaking league. Gee, I wonder why some of their fans went?? Dayton finished second and was likely to make a deep run. Gee, I wonder why their fans showed up?

We represented ourselves just fine in Atlantic City when we played in the title game in 2010 and 2011. Thanks for your concern.

Right now it's a matter of "benefits". All the A10 representatives playing in both tournaments need to advance far as possible to show our conference isa top level conference plus make money. It's great exposure and recruiting sell points. Plus if the Lambs go far what does that say for us? It says we was their last lost sweeping them and possibly should been in NCAA. I'm not rooting for each team specifically but pulling for the conference we are in... go A10 !

I'm sorry but what happens in this year's tourney doesn't have a damn thing to do with any future ncaa decision making. If RPI goes out and makes $2m, they keep half of it more more and we get 1/14th of the other half.

So the practical question is this: is it worth about $15k to us each of the next 5 years to have RPI win?

I'd prefer they lose and we have a bake sale to make up the difference.

have we reaped some major benefits from past runs by other A10 teams that I'm forgetting about?

so if VCU wins, you guys will be happy because we get the benefit of conference exposure, some money which will get buried somewhere, and some recognition since we beat VCU twice.

that will be some consolation, I guess. personally, I'll be much happier if they lose.

I do apologize to and feel bad that Spiderpreacher couldn't make the tourney this year. I know he would have been there if he could. I also know he travels to a bunch of away games. Great guy and great fan who I met recently. I could tell that he and I could have sat down and talked hoops and the rivalry for hours without getting mad at each other.

Good luck in the NIT, I know my in laws will be there on Wednesday - they are LONG time Spider fans and season ticket holders. We still talk to each other(April to October anyway). ;)

Unashamedly rooting for the Rams. I have several friends and family members who attended VCU, and they never bad mouth us and they also root for us whenever we are not playing the Rams. It's good for the A-10 for VCU to go as far as possible.

PhiDelta, you have a wonderful and very rare family of nice RPI fans. I have seen more Snipe on the shoulder of a Sasquatch riding a unicorn than kind humble RPI fans in my lifetime. :)

K, you have had a lot of heartburn since you have left VCU as a student and become a Spider bandwagoner.

if rpi/vdu wins, they make a lot of money, we do not, sorry, screw them.......well, actually not sorry, just screw them

bb still got the man crush. I don't get the trolling. We don't post on that board. Do I read it, yes at times. Do I post, never. Not even to gloat on the reg season sweep. To all the ram fans I'll give you this( it's what we get there)... FVCU!!

bb Troll , Thanks for proving my point!! You think your Pinto will make it to Portland?? :)

GO BUCKEYES!!!!

Maybe I'll go post on the VCU board after they lose to OSU to scold them for not taking 3,000 fans to Portland.

Go Buckeyes. May Pavarotten get some bad ganja in Portland and get sick.

That is all.
