Been off on these lately, being the eternal optimist each game. If I recall last year, Grant dominated inside vs Davidson, even with K's favorite player Peyton "Larry Bird" Aldridge on the court. Buck played very well at Davidson too.

Prediction: Mooney continues to own Mckillop, and Grant continues to dominate Davidson. Gilly wins the battle vs the next Steph (Kellan Grady).

I think we match up well with Davidson, but think they have too many weapons and Grady is back and think he dominates us and is too much. We keep it close but Davidson pulls away - 88 - 73.
 
We had 12 wins last year. 6 of them came from 2 game sweeps against 3 teams: Duquesne, Davidson, and Downtown U.

Let's hope we don't follow suit from Wednesday night.

I feel sorry for the kids. They've been suckered into thinking Mooney was a good fit for their game. Luckilly they're getting a degree (well most of them anyway) from U of R which means something out there in the real world after they hang up the Nikes.

Since joining the A10 in 2014, Davidson is 94-53 (48-28).
2 NCAAs and 1 NIT.
1 A10 tournament champion, 1 A10 regular season champion

Davidson does a really good job recruiting all things considered. Their acceptance rate is 10% lower than ours, their graduation rate is 10% higher, and their high school gym is nothing to write home about. I wish we had picked up McKillop back in 2002. I think he could have worked some real magic with our facilities, campus, and slacker academic requirements.

He's a winner. No excuses, justifications, reasons for not winning. His record speaks for itself w/out all the bells & whistles.

I looked back over a few games’ stats and it looks like Davidson usually takes around half their shots from 3. I think if they do that today instead of driving the paint the spiders win, since our biggest weakness (of many) is interior defense.
 
These announcers speak “the truth”. Mooney is one the elite coaches in the country. Richmond defends hard. Richmond passes well but the shots just aren’t dropping.

PQ have the chopter waiting for them after the game?!?!?

Sports announcers will never bad mouth a team. Also, these announcer likely know nothing about Richmond and are just regurgitating the same old notes of running a Princeton offense and such

The said thing is that this is likely what Mooney is going to say. I don’t think Mooney recognizes that anything is wrong with his defensive scheme; just that all these teams have a really good shooting game and there’s nothing we can do about it

Hard to disagree with that. The last 2 games, we have been "out- 3'd" 22-2. On pace to shoot about 11 3s again. We will not win shooting so few 3s. I know we are not making them, but you still have to shoot enough and make enough to win.
 
Whatever Mooney’s adjustments were at halftime probably aren’t working. Just a hunch.

So you decided if they take 50% of their shots from 3 and make 75% of them, that isn’t good for us?:D
 
Best I can say is it is refreshing to watch a well coached team. Pity it isn't the good guys.

Maybe, but if you are going to make 2 of x from 3, then 2 of 11 may be better than 2 of 33...
