Fordham is for real!

Watched the Fordham game - and they simply just beat up St. Louis. They played with more intensity, and just punked SLU. And the most interesting feel of the game - you can sense that Fordham has confidence, like they feel like they can win. I always felt in the past, you got a lead on them and they just accepted the loss - but their new coach and players they got - they don't accept it and they play hard. And it looked like they had a good crowd on hand in their gym as well.

So we go to Dayton and get humiliated, then the worst team in the league goes there three days later and forces OT. Awesome.
Were you around for the 1991 CAA Tourney. Last place Navy beat First place JMU?

please reference the official list of excuses, thank you
The two teams in the Super Bowl lost to Washington, New Orleans and Indianapolis. It's sports. Strange things happen.

And if we played the final minute of regulation as poorly as Dayton did last night, and if Mooney made the same stupid coaching decisions Grant did, people on this board would be crapping their pants.

Pete Gillen was absolutely beside himself when Grant didn't foul on the last possession of regulation with a 3-point lead. And of course some Loyola dude banked in a last-second prayer to force OT.

Yep..kind of like how we beat Temple and Temple beat Houston. It's called college basketball.

Pointed out in the other thread, Grant is not a great in-game coach. He is a fabulous closer when it comes to recruiting. He has VERY highly rated recruiting classes year after year (including a few years ago where he landed the best player in the Country). If he were better at coaching them up, he would be near the top of the best all-time.

Who cares about Grant, other than when his teams whip Mooney? We have our own issues with winning and losing?
