UNH will be moving up as well and will be on our heels, setting up a HUGE Nov 5 Homecoming tilt at the Brickhouse.

Grades handed out against a team’s Preseason poll.

“…24. Richmond

B+

Richmond’s offensive additions via the transfer portal led to preseason playoff expectations. At 5-2 overall and 5-1 vs. the FCS (loss to Elon, one then-ranked win over Nova), the Spiders are sitting well at this point in the season. The final four games will truly determine if this team is playoff-good, though, going to Maine, hosting ranked UNH, going to ranked Delaware, and hosting ranked W&M.

Richmond is currently ranked No. 17…”

FCS Top 25: Sam Herder’s Ballot For The Week Of 10-31-2022 - HERO Sports

“…The CAA is a jumbled mess right now.

I ranked W&M the highest at 7-1 overall with wins over Delaware and Rhody, an FBS win, and a loss to Elon. Then it’s UNH at 6-1 vs. the FCS with a win over Elon (loss to NC Central). Then it’s Rhody at 5-2 vs. the FCS with a win over Elon and losses to Delaware and W&M. Then it’s Elon at 6-2 vs. the FCS with losses to Rhody and UNH and wins over W&M, Richmond, and Delaware. Then it’s Delaware at 6-2 overall with an FBS win, a win over Rhody, and losses to W&M and Elon. Finally, it’s Richmond at 6-1 vs. the FCS with a loss to Elon and no wins yet over the other five.

Holy smokes, I hope I got all that down in the CAA…”

Tigers’ Tale: Unbeaten Princeton Rolls into FCS Top 25 Rankings

#14

It sucks the Ivy League prohibits football players from postseason play. That sounds like a clear Title IX violation.

I enjoy watching the Friday night Ivy League games on CBSSN. Princeton is pretty good. Michigan appropriated their winged helmet when Fritz Crisler went there from Princeton in 1938.

RICHMOND, Va. (October 31, 2022) – CAA Football topped all FCS conferences with six nationally ranked teams in the latest Stats Perform and AFCA Coaches FCS Top 25 polls that were released on Monday.

William & Mary (7-1) rose to No. 8 in the Stats Perform poll and No. 9 in the AFCA Coaches poll after edging nationally ranked Rhode Island, 31-30, last Saturday. It’s the highest ranking since 2015 for the Tribe, which makes the short trip to Hampton this week.

Richmond (6-2) jumped to No. 14 in both polls following a 31-21 victory at Maine last week. The Spiders host nationally ranked New Hampshire on Saturday.

Delaware (6-2) slid to No. 16 in the AFCA poll and No. 18 in the Stats poll following a 27-7 setback at Elon last week. The Blue Hens entertain Monmouth on Saturday afternoon.

New Hampshire (6-2) was off last Saturday, but climbed to No. 17 in the Stats poll and No. 21 in the AFCA poll. The Wildcats travel to No. 14 Richmond in a key CAA contest on Saturday.

Rhode Island (5-3) dropped to No. 22 in the AFCA poll and No. 23 in the Stats Perform rankings after it narrow 31-30 loss at William & Mary last Saturday. The Rams entertain Maine this week.

Elon (6-3) moved back into both polls after knocking off Delaware, 27-7, last week, slotting at No. 19 in the Stats rankings and No. 23 in the AFCA rankings. The Phoenix are back at home on Saturday against UAlbany.

Villanova (5-3), which defeated Hampton 24-10 last week, continued to receive votes in both polls this week.
