Fallout from Huesman interference(Run 1st,Pass 2nd)-Move to PL(1 bid league)-10 starters hit portal-no graduate transfers-and going out on Top

Seems our rpo QBs have not been stellar passers so they quickly tuck the ball and run. The passing game never opened up the run game. This year we had a passer and a running back, the best combination. If you value the QB do not make him the primary rusher. Their body position is different from a running back. The RB once he has the ball is protecting the ball and running pretty much downfield. That’s what he does. The QB is holding the ball differently and looking to pass or run and his body is all over the place so he is not really protecting himself from lateral hits.

Mellot
13/24 passing
14/135 running
Miller
19/22 passing
18/122 running

Both quarterbacks were about equal
They were highly successful when choosing to run! This is why they both were in the Championship Game. Superior decision making and production. Our QB’s did neither

This leads to injuries.

I agree this one does sting. I liked the physical play and pulling action of our offensive line last year. Kennedy came in took that line to another level in the run game.
Glad for him but you are right, the OL had always been good at pass blocking, but he certainly turned that around.
Probably a step down even from PL but certainly looks like a good move for him to move his career along. This one would have probably happened without all the changes I would think.

I've seen Mellot & Miller several times this year on TV. Both are outstanding and bolstered by good athletes. The SD State QB is also really good.

On the other hand, I have no problem with Cam, as I thought he was pretty darn impressive & had a good year. He should have started against UVA. BTW - any update on his current status / situation?

Agree with his year. He has the tools but missed critical throws that could have put his game close to these QB’s. Some was on him and some was on the receivers. His running game was mostly fantastic as he settled in to that phase! Hope he gets a new start and continues to get better and reach his full potential. He is a tremendous worker and great guy!

I agree. I’m surprised we’re not putting offers out for new QBs, even if Coleman was still here. Delaware State qb was fantastic, we should be able to get someone of that caliber.

We got three now and one coming in, I think. They will not update the roster so I can tell who is left and some might graduate and move on for all I know, so might be why they do not update the thing to reflect the transfers.

I am still not sure Wickersham cannot get a medical for this year if he wants one and I think he has a year left anyway, or he might be in the portal or graduating and moving on for all i know. I always thought it was the plan when they tried to RS Coleman twice. Wickersham did lead the nation in completion percentage two years ago, regardless of how much some here do not like him. Probably has more to do with them disliking Huesman more than Wickersham though.

Wickersham held the ball for too long.
