Experimentation to end the season

Aldridge is a really good player and would be perfect for our system. I think we prioritized Diekvoss over him though. Good thing we were able to wrestle him away from that Northern Kentucky bid.

I don't remember us being in serious contention for Aldridge, if anything, I suspect we went after Diekvoss when Aldridge didn't materialize.

Deikvoss is now playing in D2 averaging 5 points a game in 24 games and 21 starts this year. Not an A10 player.

Sarcasm does not convey well. Yeah, clearly we screwed the pooch on Diekvoss. He might be our worst recruiting miss ever, not only for his direct transfer to a D-2 program but because he was our first signee in that class. At least with Smithen and Dominaus who were late spring signees so we were in a kind of use it or lose it scenario. But, we decided to make Diekvoss the first recruit in that draft class. Just brutal.

no, he's not a track and field star, K. not many 6'9" kids are. but he's a heck of an athlete. some of his dunks are more impressive than any of ours by anyone not named Fore or Taylor.

Tim Singleton and his 3.0 ppg and 11.7 mpg for DII Texas A&M-Kingsville says hi.

Luke piotrowski is tearing it up at Eastern Illinois (3.5 pts/2.5 reb). The grass is not always greener.

I am with you, but I guess I am old school and like a TJ and SDJ type player who brings basketball skills every night more than the NBA 3's and dunks style of BB. I would put Aldridge more in the former category.

At our level of basket ball, we just don't get the "athlete" that is also a skilled basketball player very often. Those are few and far between. In my opinion, the A-10 may have 4 or 5 of those total.

So Mooney has started experimenting with different starting line-ups. Starting MW against Davidson, and KF against VCU. Does he go the next step and start both of them?

And for any who may think the reason we gave up 55 points to VCU at the Siegel Center last year but a whopping 87 points this year is that we lost Alonzo Nelson-Ododa....he's averaging 8 minutes, 1.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 40% free throw shooting in his Richmond graduated, transferred, Senior season at Pitt!

Tbone, are you trying to kill Mooney? Mooney has not slept in weeks with all of these changes, he is buying Tums by the crate load, he's been wearing his Tuesday socks on Wednesday, and now you want to pile yet another change onto the man.

What's next, playing Jesse and Paul, meaningful minutes? Teaching our players how to box out instead of just "jumping towards the ball".

BTW, strong effort today on Burton's show, Spider fans. I have heard about 5 calls in a row from Richmond fans. The topic is getting a lot of good discussion, which is what is needed for SOME type of change to occur.

Burton is a vdu homer out to destroy our program. Hope others recognize this. OSC

Burton is just pitiful and hopefully will soon be replaced by Matt Josephs. Matt actually has sports knowledge. Burton makes Big AL look like a sports genius.

That's in the ACC, not the lowly A-10.
