End of First Half Hurt

I usually don't worry about the first half unless we've dug a hole too deep to recover. But at the end of the first half in yesterday's game, the events really hurt our team. We are up by 2 and had the break away dunk and follow-both missed, then VCU brings it down, takes a three, and Taylor jumps toward him and taps Larrier's hand after the ball is on the way to the basket. Shot misses, ref calls shooting foul, Larrier hits all three. Then Terry Allen gets fouled shooting and misses both free throws.
We missed big free throws all night.
The call on Taylor is just a call that I disagree as a rule, in any game. Larrier had already shot the ball, he was not "in the act of shooting." At most, it was a non-shooting foul, and it was touch by Taylor. The NCAA should review the definition of "In the act of shooting."
So we go from a 6 or more point lead at the half to a 1 point deficit. We lose momentum and revive the spirit and momentum of the Rams. That was huge.
That being said. I am very proud of the Spiders and the effort in the game.
I look forward to the NIT and next year. Especially with Shandre and TJ back.
Go Spiders!

Only guy on the floor for the sheep that could have hurt us was Johnson and we didn't guard him tight. Also he got some lucky heaves to go in. That was the difference.

Melvin Johnson was the difference in this RPI game versus the first two games against them this season.

Me too! Big disappointment I took away from the game that gave them a lead they didn't deserve. Who knows if UR doesn't build the lead up to 10+ after the break?
