Chris Mooney is an absolute joke. You can throw in all sorts of excuses for this season and tonight’s game in particular; cOViD, grant and blake being out, Sherod missing the whole season, no fans, the A10 screwing UR over, or whatever else. At the end of the day this team brought back the “best class ever” that collectively went 24 and 7 last year and was the preseason league favorite. That team is going to finish 8th in a weak A10 this year. EIGHTH!!!! Again this isn’t the A10 of old where there could potentially be 5 teams getting a bid to the NCAA’s, there might be 2 teams getting in this year. This is not a hard league to succeed in especially considering UR’s roster. The bottom line is that this team finished 8th in the league, that’s all you need to know. No excuses needed to justify being 8th. That finish includes 3 awful losses and late game let downs in the two biggest games of the season.
Many on here think I hate the program and that is just not true. My heart breaks for a guy like Nathan Cayo who had the best game of his career on senior night only to lose to a 3 win team. I already explained how bad I feel for a guy like Francis; throw in Golden, JG, and Nick sherod and I just feel awful for those guys. You can throw a laundry list of other guys in the past ten years that deserved to play in the ncaa tournament and make a name for themselves and the University. Just think about how the media would have eaten up a guy like Kendall Anthony leading his team to a second weekend in the ncaa tournament or how much they would have loved TJ Cline’s story. I couldn’t take it anymore 3 years ago and I’m not sure how anyone still does. If you support chris Mooney still I’m not even sure what to say. He has ruined the careers of countless players at this point. The guy has to be gone.
