Lsu was up by 4 at halftime but ended up losing to SMU by 10 to move to 8-2. With the SEC as insanely strong as it is, not sure how they will end up doing in conference but hope I'm wrong since would love to see Dji get to the tourney.

Dji played 39 minutes, 2 of 3 from 3, 4/7 FGs, 4 rebounds and 13 points.

Good to read this. He made a good choice. Happy for him and his family.

LSU crushed Stetson last night - Were up 47-10 at halftime.

Dji played 47 minutes, 4 of 8 FGs, 5/6 FTs, 5 rebounds, 4 assists.2 steals, 3 turnovers.

I think I saw a stat last night that the collective SEC is like 53-5 in December. Their conference schedule is going to be insane.

What the heck, is Dji playing two positions now???? How did he get 47 minutes :):):):)

Dji and LSU now on ESPN2 versus Vandy and Grant Huffman if you are looking for something to watch.

LSU dropped this one at home 80-72. Dji continues to start, and was 4 for 5 from the field with 5 rebounds.

Interesting stat in this one is that ESPN box score shows only 5 assists total for LSU. Wow. And Vandy only with 11. May have been some tough score keepers. Though from what I have seen from LSU when I have watched, Dji is the most willing passer, they have some other guys that are going to shoot every time when they get the ball.

Well, I watched the last few minutes, and LSU just tightened up on offense and played not to lose, which of course caused the loss. LSU is Kenpom 81st, and in 15th place in the conference with a 1-9 record.

I know Dji was probably ready to move on and play in a power conference and all that comes along with it. BUT, I just wonder how much effort went into keeping him. we heard that they backed up the Brinks Truck for Burton. Again the messaging from moon didn't give me the opinion we went all in to keep him. Likely he does not push us over the edge, but have to think if we had Dji and a healthy DLo, and one more dynamic piece we are a pretty good A10 team this year, and moon is not sliding closer to .500 lifetime. I think again, if the effort was not made, or not very strong - it points to moon's overall lack of emphasis on defending and rebounding. both of which Dji was very good at.

I think it's just as simple as NIL $. It wouldn't surprise me if Dji is making more money this year at LSU than our entire roster combined. SEC money is insane.

Case in point: it was reported on college gameday earlier this year that SEC schools are spending an average of $4-$5 million on their basketball rosters. That's about $300k-$400k a year per scholarshipped player. If Dji got even close to that, I can see Mooney throwing his hands up and saying there's nothing he can do.

After Tyler left, it seems like Mooney just embraced the fact that guys were going to leave for big paychecks.

Love Dji, but if we were on our team this year, we are probably no better than a .500 ball club. Dji is a piece that can make a really good club great, he is not a piece to make a bad club good.

Kind of like Barclay with the Giants. He stays on the Giants last year, maybe they win 5-6 games versus 3, but they still are lousy and aren't making the playoffs anyway. Not that Dji is Barclay but comparison is apt when you have a bad roster like ours, one or two good players, your still going to have a bad roster.

I like Dji as much as the next guy, but there's no way he makes us a .500 team this year.
we're 325th in the country in 3 point shooting.

Think about that - 325th in country in the bread and butter of Mooney’s System. With such a failure, one might expect possibly adaptation to something else. But once in quicksand with an approach never try to escape.

Maybe not, but it makes sense to go hard after a really good A10 player already on your team. I'm sure you will say maybe we did. But just like every little lack of motivation with Mooney, he could have said so. He could have said we did everything we could to keep him, but we got outbid or he didn't want to stay, whatever. But no, moon just keeps losing, and he just fluffs off everything. Easy to say he wouldn't make us .500. But maybe his ability to get to the hoop and pass open up those shooters a little more. His ability to play rock solid defense helps everyone a little more. I know u said u coached some aau or something before, but having one guy like that cab gelp everyone else do better at their job. I bet moons saying same thing, aw shucks Dji wouldn't have helped us.
