Over the last 4 games our defense has been absolutely dominating allowing only 53 points per game and allowing us to to win 4 in a row and 3 by blowout.
GW 76-54
Fordham 59-53
La Salle 74-47
VCU 77-59

We are playing like a top 25 team and our RPI has moved up to 30th and hopefully our NET will be in the 40s tomorrow. Everything seems to be coming together. Go Spiders!

Over the past 5 games the Spiders rank #1 in fewest points allowed per game in D1. Very impressive.

As most of you know our NET is down to 43 and our RPI is 28th with no seniors.

Defense has been amazing. Defensive efficiency (points allowed per possession) is now 63rd in the country. Offense is 59th. This comes only a year after being 125th in O and 287th in D. Incredible turnaround.

How about after the first few games when we had to score 95+ just to barely win!

72 appears to be our magic number.
Those first two games, we can chalk up to learning curve - adjusting to the new defense.
Since then, our opponent in every loss has scored more than 72 points.
In every win except for one (GM), we've held our opponent under 72. I didn't watch that game but I think we had a big lead late when they broke through and a lot of points were scored in garbage time.

We had that great five-game win streak where we held all of our opponents under 60, then the SBU loss. Our last two opponents have scored 70 & 71. Not too concerned about UMass, as we were coasting - but if GW had been able to hit free throws, who knows?

step out ,and recover ,or maybe double on day ,on ball screen makes better defense I am glad we finally do this also and quick hit offense, one signal is tap head then off ball guard cuts and cross screen for pivot across lane very nice Coach very nice and I like blue tie best
