Dayton Leaving A10?

Wonder who the A10 will pick to replace them. Will make our move to the big East even tougher for the conference to recover from.
Pretty impressive to go from D3 football to being forced to FCS to joining the AAC in a 30 year period.
It will be even more impressive when they win the AAC in Football... without scholarships.
If ODU can ever get their football affairs in order, would be a good fit for the AAC. Its like a good Conference USA.
Maybe if they can improve in basketball and Harrisonburgs market explodes in size over the next decade.
jmu won’t join the American. Harrisonburg is not a big enough city for that to happen. All of the American conference schools are in decent sized cities and I think that’s kind of the conference’s calling card. ODU makes a lot of sense and once they get football going they will likely join the league.
Blacksburg isn't that big, either.
Purple has a lot of alums all over the state so the whole thing is the market, really.
I’m interested to see what Falwell U does as far as their affiliation. If they weren’t so weird as a university they would be a great fit for at least Conference USA or the SunBelt. With the money they’re putting into facilities and the success of their programs they are gonna get picked up by someone. I bet Danny Rocco wishes he would’ve stayed there now, seems like they have the vision.

Maybe with the Falwells out of the picture but that school is way to out there for any mainstream conference to take them on. Theyre just a christian real estate hedge fund masquerading as a university. No respectable conference would be willing to take them on until they change their tune quite a bit.
Damn Christians with 100,000+ enrollment. Who would want their kind? 🙄
Plenty of Christian schools are in power conferences so I'm not really sure what your point is other than not liking me calling that school out. But there is a reason why Liberty is in a garbage league for all its sports and none for football and its not because of its world class facilities, endowment, performance on the athletic fields or enrollment that's inflated thanks to an online school.
Like it or not its that they were founded by a guy that was an inflammatory jackass who had an appetite for spewing hate and non-sense in the name of Christianity on every media outlet, left it to his son who was an even bigger jackass and got fired for some very non christian behavior. There are plenty of other CHRISTIAN schools that did not model their school after that rhetoric and as a result are NOT in the predicament Liberty has put themselves in. Frankly I am ashamed when we play them in any sports.

They are in a garbage league because they are still a young program in general and have only been in FBS for like 3 years lmao. Sorry to have to interrupt your "Durrrr Falwell bad, Liberty bad" terror but they have been more successful than we have been recently and will most likely be more successful than us in the future as well.
I will save you a reply, this is where you say you don't care how successful they are because they are all such dreadful, horrible people. 👍
