Re: Temple close to naming coach?

If it's Danny Rocco, both of his coordinators at Richmond have extensive high-level FBS and NFL experience as assistants and coordinators. They seem to have the football chops.
Rocco, meanwhile, worked for several big names (Groh, McCartney, Coughlin) and jumped right from position coach to head coach at Liberty and then Richmond. So his resume is similar to Matt Rhule and his approach appears similar to Rhule in that he leans on high-level guys to run his offense and defense while he's the man in charge. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like he runs a pro-style offense.
He's 56, he's a PA native, he played for Paterno and then transferred to Wake Forest, and presumably his next job could be his last. He's been very successful at Liberty and Richmond.

Rocco spent a good amount of time at Liberty and for those who are aware all staff there are vetted by the Jerry Falwell standards. The place makes Baylor look wild and crazy.
Somehow I m seeing a consist thought. Does it fit with Temple conscious ? I don t know but sure is different. However , interesting
Just an FYI

You know... We're trying to build a stadium and we can't even hire a coach. And if you want to build a stadium, you need the coach to not only be successful but in a way larger than life. Temple has a real problem where everyone thinks they're bigger than the football program. My friends who are lawyers and bankers etc are too big time for our little shit program. It's funny. The last two years, this changed. Hall and Oates chimed in. Local news started doing Temple football broadcasts. And here we are again... potentially giving the keys to a nobody. It's gonna take 3 more years to get back to where we are right now... if we're lucky. Even Al Golden at least brings p5 chops. Matt Canada we can sell. Any Google search will tie him to LSU and bring credibility from day one. The average fan is not going to give an eff about a nobody. The only way KC Keeler or Danny Rocco win over these people is with more 10 win seasons. And you know what... that's really hard to do.

In 11 years at Delaware, Keeler finished with a winning record in league play 5 times. That ain't too good. Rocco, meanwhile, dominated the Big South, and in 11 years as a head coach, he's never had a losing record and he's won at least 8 games 8 different times.
And before you cry FCS, realize that he's worked at Texas, Colorado, Boston College, Virginia, Maryland, and for the NY Jets.
His overall resume is better than just about everyone else that has been mentioned for the job. And he's proven it as the head guy.
