Congrats Mike Elko!

came here with Clawson and was here 2 years. Coached special teams and LBs here in addition to being recruiting coordinator. Left to go to Hofstra as defensive coordinator and then joined up with Clawson again at BGSU & Wake. Was at ND last season and now DC at Texas A&M.

Always felt he was a big part of our 2005 playoff run and helped us turn things around. The young assistants Clawson brought in really set the tone - we had some good coaches around (at least in my opinion)

As most of you know, I'm a big ND fan. When ND hired him, I reached out to a couple of guys that played here under him and they mentioned he was as good of a coach as they had. Guy did a great job of simply teaching complicated techniques.

Clawson spoke of him as one of the brightest young minds he had worked with when he was here

well, he has his work cut out for him down here. A&M has talent but they have not performed consistently, hope he can change that. also will be interesting to see if Jimbo can recruit tejas like he will have to do in order to make a positive difference. Sumlin did a great job of recruiting but there was a real prob with the culture in the program and that will have to be cleared up.
