Congrats Burton on 1st double double!

Tyler has all the tools to be an nba guy. You can tell he’s worked on his 3, he can hang in the air for rebounds and put backs. He needs to work on defending at the rim though, he get some cheap fouls there. He’s the real deal and super special

Adding the threat of being reliable from 3 makes him a big problem for other teams.

Burton honestly looks like a future nba guy. Best pro prospect UR has had in a while.

Agreed. He is leagues ahead of Justin Harper, our last pro, in terms of development at this stage of his career. Harper didn't blossom until senior year when he averaged 18 ppg and shot 45% from 3. Burton, who obviously has a much improved 3 pt. shot, is so much more athletically gifted than Harper. Plus he has already shown that he is a significantly better rebounder than Harper ever was. His future is very bright. We are lucky to have him.

Yeah, him and Harp are 2 completely different players. No one was saying Harp had pro potential as a Junior.

Burton is a more gifted athlete than Harp and his motor is on a different level as well, plus he has fantastic instincts. Harp was a better shooter though.

Good point. They are different players. My point was simply that I think Burton's ceiling is significantly higher and is developing at a much better rate than the last pro Richmond had. Plus I think his game, tenacity and athleticism translate much better to the NBA.

Completely agree. Harp had the skills for the NBA, but his cerebral approach to the game, was never going to cut it in the NBA. But just goes out, gets after it, and lets his athletic abilities rule the day.

I see a Norfolk State game in Geriot's sophomore year where he went for 21 and 15.

He also went for 35 and 13 against Bona that year.

I wonder if that was the game where Nicholson was dominating us and Geriot gave him a little hand to the nut sack and that was the last of Nicholson dominating the game. Geriot so crafty and just a tad bit dirty at times.

Nicholson didn't arrive until the following year.

Who would have guessed that we would have the co-player of the week the 1st 2 weeks of the season and they would be Cayo and Burton. I think Gilly, Blake and Grant are going to kick it in high gear and we will forget the 7:15 of pure hell from the last game. Hopefully we will be back in the top 25 next Monday. Congrats Tyler!
