Conference Schedule

Do we have 'protected rivalries' with Davidson and VCU? I am almost 100% certain we will have a home and home with VCU every year, I wonder if we will have one with Davidson every year as well.
makes sense location-wise.

It makes sense, but VCU does not have a home-and-home with Davidson this year, so I am wondering if we might lose the home-and-home with them too at some point. I hope not.

It seems we have the most protected rivalries. GMU, GWU, VCU and Davidson..

I am not surprised playing Davidson and VCU twice. George Washington was probably a sure bet as well. They recently hired Greg Paulus so George Washington seems to be going up.

I don't know, in the past 3 seasons GW has had 28, 22 and 15 wins. That is not what I would call 'going up'. This hire might help, but after firing Lonergan they have not been going in the right direction.

our home and homes with gw/gm/vcu are no brainers for travel reasons. it's good for fans too to be able to fill stadiums at either location if it's a relatively easy drive.

davidson could get lost at some point, but none of the other teams have a better geographic reason to play them, so it seems like a consistent fit.

From the UR link. "In addition to its annual home-and-home series with VCU, Davidson, George Mason, and George Washington, Richmond will play a two-game series against La Salle."
"2018-19 will be the fifth straight season the Spiders play home and road games against VCU, Davidson, George Mason, and George Washington, the four A-10 schools closest to Richmond's campus"

The league shifted SLU from us and gave them H&H with URI & St. Joes. Because they think all those teams are going to be good. They were are one rotational partner and we got LaSalle in its place. Kind of gives you a perspective of how the league feels about where UR stands in the pecking order, which is outside the top Tier.

well yeah. we won 12 games last year.

They should have used Molly bolts. Drywall anchors just won’t cut it.

Not finished yet, but here is new arena in DC

Watching the NCAA Tournament last spring and now reading about the Ramblers was/is a great story in college basketball...I'm old enough to remember their last National Championship runs in the early 60's...

At the same time it makes me kind of sad...Richmond used to be a "giant killer' and NCAA cinderella...I really miss those days and good times... hopefully all of us can once again enjoy what Rambler fans are living now...it can't come soon enough for me

Go Spiders!

Mojo, it’s coming sooner than you imagine.

interesting how perceptions change. Porter's career record at Loyola (conference) was below .500 prior to last year. prior to last year never finished above 5th in MVC. at illinois state never had a winning conference record. Is overall winning % is .522

Funny, how going to a Final Four will change perceptions of a coach and a program isn't it?
