Competitive excellence fund....in what??

Are we the only team in Virginia not going to the NCAA? Norfolk State is in too!

You got the wheels spinning in my head with this comment. Virginia has a decent number of schools to make it to the big dance every year so how many times has a school from our state gotten an invite since our last trip? Take your guesses now.

Norfolk State: X
UVA: XXXXXXX
VCU: XXXXXXX
JMU: X
Liberty: XXX
Hampton: XX
VT: XXX
Radford: X
ODU: X

(I gave Liberty credit for last year since they did win their conference tourney and secure an auto-bid before everything got shut down.)

So that is 9 other in-state schools that have earned a combined 26 trips and we are hoping for an NIT berth after 4 years of the best class ever. Does the administration care?

I will split my donation between women's basketball and baseball this year. I'm not going to penalize those programs because of Mooney.
I think we should start focusing on the Women’s team on this board. Seems like there’s something building there with competent coaching and recruiting.

Ugh! That’s sad if we have sunk that far.

I used to do that but they admit the money is fungible. So if you give money to baseball they move baseball money to basketball

Well, one more selection Sunday in the books let's update that list shall we?

So that is 9 other in-state schools that have earned 31 trips to the NCAA tournament since we were there last. Our basketball program is a freaking embarrassment.

I'm trying to think of the other schools in the state (besides Mooney, Inc) that haven't been to the tourney since 2011:

Longwood
George Mason
W&M

Anyone else? One thing is for certain, the other schools on this list have invested a fraction of what UR has towards hoops over the past decade.

We all know that the athletic department has us written in stone as having made the tournament last year, so all of these locations points are irrelevant to the people in charge.
