Change in basketball recruiting strategy?

He turned the football program from being the laughing stock of college football in the nation with the longest losing streak to being the only SoCon Champion to win the Tangerine Bowl.

I guess you could claim that for a period of time Coach Jones ruled the roost, or perhaps Web.

To expand on why Mooney’s salary was so high in 2015-16, the University was setting aside $300-$400K per year in deferred compensation toward his retirement under a 457(f) plan. It looks like it was under the condition that he remain coach for at least four or five years following the new 2011 or 2012 contract. He fulfilled that as of 2016, so the whole $1.4 million in deferred funds from those years became taxable at once.
So the whole "French Connection" was that they invented "Vesting" & "Forfeiture"? ;)

Botany is important. Keeps everyone fed. You’re welcome in advance.

Try bacon bits on your meals of kale. You need to build up a lot of muscle mass. Its a cruel world out there. Its easy to get roughed up out there.I’ll stick with the lean filet sprinkled with parsley.

I’m Negan.
I’m Spartacus!

I’m looking for age group peers to reminisce about old times with. Are there any in this fan Base?

My fixed income investments since my youth have done well, isn’t compounding great? I wonder if I should start donating?

I know its been said before that Richmond uses charters for both games (all sports) and recruiting (all sports or just bball/football?). Does Richmond own a plane or just rent them when they need the flights?

Judging from our recent offers, it appears things have really changed. Maybe credit the new AD working with Coach Mooney.

I've see Mooney in RVA airport getting on a flight with everyone else. So unless there's a group of coaches on a recruiting trip, doubt a charter is used. Would be a huge waste of money, unless a charter just has an open seat.

What recent offers? The JUCO kid who averaged 3 ppg at Louisanna his freshman year and now has offers from us and UC Riverside. Whoa, let me tamp down my excitement level.

The new AD might open up some recruitment opportunities for our program, but we still have the same crappy salesman trying to sell our program. It is about time for the annual look at all of these good players we offered, and then followed by the annual, look at these players that we actually signed. They are typically two completely different sets of players.

The past couple of days have been an emotional roller coaster relative to recruiting. Landing Blake Francis is a big win for the program. Obviously losing Bryce was a big disappointment, but part of that was due to many of us convincing each other we had a good shoot without any evidence.

This should be our 3rd straight good recruiting year in a row. Being in the A10 is a huge disadvantage for recruiting compared to teams in power conferences. We are going after a lot of high quality talent and we need to be prepared for a low hit ratio, but if we get enough at bats, we are going to hit a few home runs.

Being in the A10 is a huge disadvantage compared to being in a P5 league, sure, but we've been in the A10 for 17 years now. We should have figured this out.

Exactly. We need to recruit against our conference effectively so that we can compete for a conference title.
We're not being measured against Duke/UNC or Kansas or even Xavier any more.

In by deep state of depression since Buckingham has been kick off the team I have struggled to find anything positive to say. However, the quality of this year's recruits is surprising good and it does seem that recruiting has significantly improved the past three years. If we can do a better job keeping our best players, we might actually have a good team the next couple years.

With that said, I am going to keep my expectations low until the current establishment proves they know how to win.
