Can money truly buy you happiness in the form of a collegiate sports team?

Which player is making more NIL than his head coach's salary?
Hard to say because NIL money is not published. But take the BYU kid that just signed for a reported 7 million? That will be more than the BYU coach.

Take Larranaga at Miami - I think he was making 2.5 million, maybe close to 3 million per year. So maybe not making as much as the coach, but its hard enough to get an 19 year old kid to listen to you, now lets say your giving him 500K or maybe 1 million - in their minds, they don't need you (coach). And I think these coaches, old school types - like to be in control. And this new NIL game is less about control than ever before.

I'm not buyng it. if it was all about coaching kids, he'd have been fine at Bowling Green. he wanted more.

not saying that's wrong. people leave jobs for "more" every day. just don't whine about college kids who now have the same options as he's had.
Could be he also likes the next challenge. I don’t know him other than noticing his progression of schools
and conferences. I was in healthcare 40 years and moved several times to provide myself more knowledge
and job security within a very competitive industry. It was not just for the money. I do think his timing is not
the best.

It's about the timing though, 23. A regular season title and a tourney title with an NCAA tourney win 2 of the last 3 seasons will get you some extra years. Along with the 24 win season in 2020, no A-10 school would not want a coach that has done that 3 of the past 5 seasons. I am as frustrated as anyone with our roster this year, but that doesn't mean we should just forget about all the success the past 5 seasons, and act like it didn't happen.
You keep harping back on the same crap, 5 years. This isn’t a program , its a crap shoot that’s mostly crap
